My husband has an older flatbed trailer that he is refurbishing. He was saying he will have to rewire the whole trailer. So that means front to back - trailer brakes, trailer lights and brake lights …when I found this 14 GA 7 wire 42 copper strand trailer wiring . He initially was going to run individual wires through the frame, but after looking at this and how much you get for the price, he said this will make the job much cleaner and easier. It will also look more professional if he decides to sell the trailer. Using this 7 wire unit, it will also be more weather resistant and not as easy to snag and drag the wiring loose if he has to go into a rough field with the trailer. When the wiring from Nilight arrived he was even more impressed with the quality and the brand. He has another project coming up when this one is finished and he mentioned wanting to look at what other lengths and different kinds of wiring that NiLight offers to make that job easier too. I don’t know if the weight of the wiring will help anyone but this 25 foot roll weighed 5 pounds 13.4 ounces. We don’t give 5 star reviews easily. He says there is nothing that Nilight can improve and the price is fantastic. So it gets a full 5 stars from us.I hope my thoughts help someone else with their trailer project.

I did not assign stars based on ease of installation or use because those things depend on your skills and what your specific project is. I have a few other products that Nilight offers that are of good quality, and this wire is no exception. This cable is exactly as advertised, seven conductors of 14 AWG wire, in a thick, good quality overall jacket. The cable is reasonably flexible. It comes with a wiring diagram. There are a couple of different standards for the color code. I like to use an ohmmeter to identify the ground conductor, and then ring them out one at a time by activating that function on the tow vehicle and confirming it on the trailer. I have bought this wire at the trailer supplier and paid dearly by the foot, so this is a good price. Note that this can be used on other pieces of equipment too. I've used it on a plow controller, and it is what my truck camper used to plug into the truck. If you are rewiring your trailer, use this product, get it done right the first time, and then enjoy a few years of trouble free service before you have to look at it again.

Nilight 25 Feet 7 Way Trailer Wire Extension Cable Traditional SAE 14 Gauge 7 Conductor 100% Pure Copper Insulated Heavy Duty WireOne look at this wire and I was totally impressed with how heavy-duty it was and the quality was apparent with the weight and feel of it overall. This is exactly what I needed for the main harness on my golf cart and is a great, heavy-duty, jacketed wire that allows for 3 pair plus one extra for my solenoid trigger switch (which happens to be a blue wire – perfect match).I have a fuse block and voltage reducer under the seat in the battery compartment of the cart (1997 EzGo TXT) and this enabled me to run one wire loom group to the front console to the switch bank in the dash and keep each wire separate to feed the different lights, radio, power plugs and overhead lights all on different switches.I prefer the separate wires in case a fuse pops, I'll know which accessory is the culprit and allows me to use a lower amp fuse for each feed instead of trying to carry the amps on one wire with a higher amp fuse, which is safer IMO to protect against shorting or over-current on any of the wires. The fact that's the wire group is insulated is great since it has to run underneath the cart and will be exposed in some places to some dirt/mud on occasion and just looks a lot cleaner than the split loom or exposed wires and will be more durable to rubbing or chafing.14 ga. is nice and heavy-duty wiring - slightly over-kill for my project, but I'd rather that than the opposite.100% copper wire is surprisingly hard to find and usually what you find is “copper clad” aluminum which is sort of confusing why.The last wire I used turned into a grayish-white powdery substance inside and broke after about two months, so I was glad to see this was pure copper.Aside from the obvious problem of it not working, also all the time I wasted wiring up the cart and the connectors, etc. with the cheap wire, makes buying a better quality like this a much better value.I was able to build my own harness for half of what a lighter-duty version cost and custom make it for my extra accessories and still have enough extra length to run a feed for a tow-behind sprayer rig and rear work/back-up lights.Rather than trying to save a few bucks on cheap wire, do yourself a favor and use this instead and be done with it. I learned my lesson for sure.

I picked up an old International backhoe for my property. The wiring in it is completely trashed as it is 50 years old. This cable worked out perfect for building 2 new harnesses for my equipment and has the perfect amount of conductors.I made one *engine/run* harness that took about 5' I used another 15' to make a separate aux lighting harness. The outer insulator is of good quality and made the install look clean with a few D clamps and some zip ties. Everything works great and is well protected from abrasion and weather. This should easily last longer than the original wiring.

Nilight doesn't cheat you on pure copper wire for any of their products. The cable's outer sheath is very thick and protective yet still allows the cable to bend. All of the wires are the same gauge. If your trailer has electric brakes, please make sure that 14 AWG is adequate for your brakes. Some firms sell cable that have the brake wires 8 or 10 AWG and 14-16 AWG for the lighting.
