For the price this is great, at the time I got it was about 3 bucks less than other listings that look identical. The chopstick set is a nice bonus too, they are pretty and decent quality. I like this type better than the single press down stamp type mold because I can make six balls at once.Japanese food is my favorite, I've tried making a lot of things, this was my first attempt at Onigiri and these molds were very easy to use. I highly recommend Just One Cookbook's recipe/how to for starting out, she explains all the common fillings, toppings and technique. I started with Tuna & Kewpie Mayo filling, warm Nishki rice, sushi nori strips, and various flavors of furikake for the topping.I lined the molds with plastic wrap for easy extraction, use pretty heavily salted water on your hands to keep the rice from sticking and for food safety reasons. Holding cooked rice as room temp can be sketchy, but refrigerating it the balls will become hard. the best tip I read if you are going to make these ahead of time is to wrap the balls in plastic and place them in a thick towel in the fridge to keep them from getting too cold.Fill the mold a little and press in, add the filling if you want, top with more rice and another piece of plastic wrap, then use the top press to give it a perfect rounded triangle shape. There are also photo instructions on the box. These make pretty small ones maybe 2.5-3 inches, which I like. I'm sure there's tons of ways to use this mold. I was happy to have a successful first attempt!

I really like this! The chopsticks are cute and work well, and the little mold is so cute! I like how quick and easy it is. I treated it like a sushi roller (plastic wrap and water on hand, seasoned rice, etc) and that worked really well. I also like it as a little snack box on the couch though, the compartments are a good size to have a variety of snacks separated but still available.
