I decided to get this reed after using my first Bari reed (identical) for over 5 months. It still works great, but this new one is even better. I didn't even have to let it break in, it worked right out of the box. I recommend leaving it on your dry mouthpiece overnight to let it mold and get a custom fit for your mouthpiece and for your embouchure. Also, it's very durable. Survives anything, so for marching/concert, it'll last.

It's no cane reed, but it gets the job done. Sometimes it's not as responsive as a good ol' orange box rico 2.5, but for occasions like marching or pep band it works just fine. Does what I want it to. It does take a little more pressure to get to work, so someone accustomed to a 3 might have better luck. It also tastes like plastic :( That is to be expected though. Wouldn't use it for a concert but it IS relatively cheap. It also looks cool.

Cane baritone saxophone reeds are ridiculously expensive. I decided to try a synthetic reed by the Bari company. Several years ago I was given a freebie synthetic soprano sax reed by the same company. I was never impressed with the tone or easy of playability of that reed and eventually tossed it as it was that bad.The price was very reasonable for this baritone sax reed, around $12 with Amazon Prime. One thing I will say for the reed: it's incredibly loud to the point that playing in a big band it's easy to drown out the entire section. The tonal quality is also very good at louder volumes. However, the response and tonal quality while playing quietly is quite mediocre at best, with lower notes often popping up an octave involuntarily.Bottom line: good to have as a spare if you're out of reeds or didn't bring enough to a playing situation, but not that great. My search for a quality synthetic Reed continues.

Although many players prefer the traditional cane reeds, I fell in love with the plastic reed. It's much easier, quality sound every time instead of sometimes getting cane reeds that don't work very well. Very helpful because it doesn't need to be re-wetted constantly Helps very much to make the high notes comfortable and better sounding, as easy to play as a size 2 and the tone of a 3.5. Considering buying plastic reeds for all of my instruments, not for constant use but I do like the different sound they make.Excited to see a possibility of quality plastic double reeds in the future.

I bought this for my High School aged son because he keeps breaking the wooden reeds. He tried it and loves it, says it produces a better, fuller deeper sound than his previous reeds. It has lasted over 4 months and still going strong. Great Buy!!!
