They're a tad shorter than they used to be. Still just as tough. Cores release pretty good. DO NOT use dry. I got 5 years out of my last one, and still have it. MANY jobs. Many nasty horizontal bore jobs by hand. Cuts through steel just fine. Burnt up the first drill and on my second now, and still have that first bit.

I recently used the 4" Wet Drill Core Bit for a demanding concrete project, and it exceeded my expectations. Designed specifically for wet drilling, this bit offers a 10mm segment height and a 14" drilling depth, making it perfect for tackling tough concrete and hard masonry surfaces. The core bit provides smooth and consistent drilling even in the hardest materials. It cuts through concrete and masonry with ease, delivering precise, clean cuts every time. The 10mm segment height allows for enhanced durability, which means this bit will last through multiple tough jobs without wearing down quickly. The overall build quality is impressive. The bit is well-balanced and solidly constructed. Its 1-1/4"-7 Arbor fits perfectly onto the rig without any wobbling, ensuring stability during operation, which is crucial for accurate drilling.Using it in a wet-only environment helps manage heat and dust, contributing to a cleaner, safer workspace. The wet-drilling capability also extends the life of the bit, reducing wear compared to dry drilling. It's ideal for longer jobs where precision and extended use are key.The bit is designed for a wide range of tough materials, from reinforced concrete to hard masonry. Whether you're working on industrial projects or professional-level home renovations, this tool is up to the task. This 4" Wet Drill Core Bit is a reliable, high-performance tool. Its durability, precision, and ability to handle the toughest materials make it an excellent investment for any contractor or professional who needs a reliable bit for concrete or masonry. I needed to make a 4" hole through a concrete block foundation. I chucked the bit into a 1/2" drill and started to drill. I did use a round wooden guide to help keep the drill on course. The drill dug in and quickly was cutting it's way through the 8" block. I stopped 2 or 3 times to wash out the cutting grove with the garden hose and to clean off the bit. Total cutting time was about 6 minutes! I was shocked at how fast this bit cut a hole! The hole was smooth through the block. The entrance hole and the exit hole were both cleanly cut with no chunking of the block when it broke through. I highly recommend this bit. I highly recommend the seller too, as the transaction was straight forward and the but arrived on time.

You can effectively use these big core drills without needing a costly jig drill. You do need water flush. When drilling a thick poured concrete wall you can drill a 1/2" carbide hole first, then feed the water in from the backside of your core into the cavity. It works just as well as a jig, without the cost. Don't even try a dry cut. Wet flush cuts solid concrete easy. I use a big ND magnet to locate the rebar to avoid that issue.

It worked, running it carefully with a heavy-duty 1/2" drill. Used water when I could to keep things cool, but some of the hole was bored thru concrete block, which was easy boring but not easy to keep wet without a hose on it. Bored that part of the hole "dry". Bought the expensive drill adapter and had no problems with that. Probably worth the money, guessing by reading the different adapter reviews. Be careful, there's a lot of force & torque on the drill & adapter. Let the tool do the work & don't force it!
