I have a 14 year old Briggs and Stratton 1450 Snow Series engine. This o-ring and gasket solved a carburetor fuel leak on the engine. Some experimenting showed that the problem wasn't the float or float needle valve. That left only this o-ring and gasket as the culpit. The problem has been going on for years, but was bearable as long as the fuel valve was shut off immediately after use. Recently it was getting worse, gas would slowly accumulate in the engine oil (I think because the carb was running way too rich due to the leaking), and if someone forget to shut off the fuel at the fuel-shut-off valve then the full tank of gas would drain into the engine crank case and I'd have to change the oil. This gasket and o-ring finally solved the problems. No leaks if the fuel shut off is left on, and now apparent accumulation of gas in the oil. I initially tried a cheap after market carburetor. That never worked, and was returned. Much better to bite the bullet and get quality OEM parts for the existing, otherwise known good, carb.
