Ansonsten kommts drauf an, was man hört. Wenn der "Boom"-Effekt nicht so wichtig ist erhält man trotzdem ein klareres Soundbild, was bei Klassik, Jazz oder Singer-Songwriter-Musik schon wichtig ist. Techno, Hip-Hop, Pop etc. könnten jedoch langweiliger klingen.

I purchased these to replace the pads on my Audio Technica MX-40s as the coating on the pads had completely worn off.Having never replaced pads it took me some time to figure it out but they do stretch to fit. If you are replacing your MX-40 pads, there is a little foam pad in the back of the original pads. You need to out that in the back of these pads to kill the highs of the headphones.I have not had a chance to see if the soundstage has changes, but these are very comfortable. The original pads were very good, but with the angle I forget they're there. The sound itself has not changed once I put that little foam in, the headphones sounded like a tin can without it.If you are looking at buying pads definitely get the angle, but these are quite expensive. There are other angled pads that are not leather for half the cost. I got the leather hoping for better durability, I wore out my last pads completely in 2 years.

I got my pair of m40x recently, and the earpads were horrendous, they are not comfy at all and got hot around 30 min of usage. So, after searching bought these. These are surprisingly comfortable, now i can wear them for hours without heating issue or any kind of irritation. They change sound signature a little, but in a very good way.Bass- They sound better, now they don't sound like right on your face, i would say they are a bit more pronounced now, the bass losses punch a little because now ears are far away from driver but it's not much noticeable.Mids- Sounded same to me, the soundstage is increased not by a huge margin but they no longer sound narrow.Treble- These pads beautifully tamed that sparkling treble around 16k, also don't forget to add the foam covers(sits in between earcups and pads by default).Overall, It turned out better than i expected, a very good investment.

I have other Brainwavz products and so decided to take my chances on this. The Audio Technica ESW9 has lambskin pads and they are super comfortable so why not try a similar product on my home 'phones.Only one thing; I'm overseas and just have the W1000Z headphones with me. And these definitely don't fit that model. It's not Brainwavz fault as they clearly list the dimensions and I wasn't smart enough to measure the headphones before finalizing my order. However, they are great feeling and will be used on another set at home. The leather itself is, from my memory, about as supple as the ESW9 was when first bought. Those broke in rather nicely and feel great. I will update this rating after I get some hours in using these new pads. The pads also have a very generous opening; important because I have extremely big ears and my whole ear can fit inside without having to tuck anything up. The dust filter in the pads also looks to my eyes as just right. Enough to keep crap out of the drivers but not so thick as to restrict sound. The stitching is nice and clean. The only con I can think of (other than against myself not checking the size!) is that the flap that goes into the headphone retaining ring is made of pleather. While it doesn't touch your ear and it's a way for the manufacturer to save costs it's a bit jarring to see. The texture and reflectivity of the pleather does not match the lambskin and thus looks off. I also have questions as to the longevity of the pleather versus the leather; should it start flaking before the leather wears out it will look badly. The final 'con' is that the pads aren't marked. So if you take both of your old pads off at the same time you might install these on backwards. Probably not a problem if one is replacing angled pads one at a time...but what happens to those who are replacing flat pads? Does the angled part go to the front or the back? On the ATH-W1000Z the thicker part is in the back. However since that is a possibility in the future and is currently not a problem I can't dock the review for that. I am also not going to down rate it over slightly different appearance especially in such a small area as I am not so picky as that.

I have moderately large ears and I've always struggled with regular over-the-ear pads, which are constantly too small, too hard, or not a good fit when also wearing my spectacles. This became particularly obvious with my new pair of M40x.The angled sheepskin Brainwavz solved all these problems and more. Made my listening experience much more comfortable, and a sensible upgrade on sound over the default pads. This is a review after 24h impressions. I may revisit it in the future.+ Pros• Easy to install, as they have plenty of 'edge' for grip behind the plastic groove of the cups, but are also quite flexible, so no fear that you'd be ripping them apart during installation.• The 'edge' is the only plastic component here, but it has a faux leather finish, so it blends well with the rest of the cup. As a cool attention-to-detail plus, the inside circumference of the 'edge' is doubled with a thin, grippy plastic ring, which helps keep the cups in place firmly.• Even though they fit my M40x like a glove (no 'play' whatsoever while mounted on), they are considerably larger and more comfortable than the default pads, without making me look like a cyborg. Magic!• The sheepskin is very soft and feels light and breathable on the head. Compared with the excellent B&W P7W, the quality of the leather was on par (well done, Brainwavz!).• The foam inside is fine. It is memory foam as advertised, maybe not as soft as the P7's, and you can hear it compressing, ever so slightly, as you are pressing it against the head. However, once there it's dead quiet and comfortable for hours.• The piece of fabric covering the speaker area is smooth and thin enough to let the pleasant, flat sound of the M40x's through (although some of you may want to fit thicker sponge pads under them, if you prefer a bassier sound). As the tips of my ears touch it slightly, I appreciate the softness, they haven't bothered me at all on longer sessions.- Cons• The only minus here would be the stitching; while solid, is not the most uniform or nice, almost like it's been done in a hurry. It's not something I would've expected from a £35 pair of pads, and it kinda spoils the premium aspect of the leather. That being said, it doesn't affect the comfort or listening at all, so I did not factor it in my rating. Conclusion: while the price may put some budget-conscious people off (for the price of these you can buy absolutely decent cans), if you have the money - DON'T HESITATE. These babies will turn any pair of over-ears headphones into an audio Rolls-Royce, both from a visual and comfort point of view. An upgrade to the soundstage is also possible, but it would depend on your existing cans/pads.
