Love this ironing board! I got the one that does not have the iron iron rest (I always hated those.) I love that it has a heat resistant spot. It is very sturdy. It doesn't creak when I'm using it.The only thing I don't like is the print on the cover. It makes me a bit dizzy. (I might replace it some time.)Overall, though, this is a really nice ironing board. I researched ironing boards like crazy and ended up with this one. I'm happy with my pick.

A tábua é ótimo, larga e estável. Claro que é cara. A Brabantia é cara já na Europa. Mas são produtos de qualidade que em geral duram muitos anos. Esta tábua tem garantia de 10 anos.

After 30+ years with my late Uncle Howard's Lady Seymour ironing board, there are so many broken rivets that it sways more than a palm tree in the breeze. So I set off on a hunt for a worthy replacement. As a semi-pro seamstress, my requirements were fairly simple: * heavy and sturdy enough to handle manipulation of yards and yards of fabric without pulling the board over, * metal components, *50+ inches, * no add-ons like an iron rest or an attached shelf for the ironed and folded pieces. I looked all over and found the Brabantia size D. So far, I like it. It meets my requirements: * 16+ lbs, * all metal, * 53", * no 'extras'. And as a bonus, it's a couple of inches wider than my old board. Some reviewers have said that you can finish ironing faster since it's wider; I don't know about that. I didn't see much in the way of time savings when ironing a mess of window curtain panels.A couple of reviewers mentioned that their boards arrived in messed up boxes and some had damage to their boards. Mine arrived with a bare minimum of boxing - as a matter of fact, there was nothing on one end at all so theoretically, it could have slid out. The box tape was half off and the box had been squashed by something heavy during shipment, BUT, the board and paperwork was all shrink-wrapped and there was no damage whatsoever.I will update either way after I've used it for awhile. Hopefully it can fill Lady Seymour's shoes over the long haul! UPDATE: After almost 1 year of regular use, I haven't had a single problem and it suits my needs perfectly.

I relinquished my cheap metal ironing board for the extra large Brabantia—and could not be more pleased. I chose it for its larger ironing surface because I iron sheets and, sometimes, drapes or sheers too. Also, it was the only extra-wide ironing board that didn't mess up one end with an iron stand (I find that iron stands really get in my way and large items get tangled or pinched in them.) When the Brabantia arrived, I realized I should have bought a quality board long ago: it is completely sturdy—doesn't wobble or shift at all. It can be set very smoothly to any height, even if I wanted to iron sitting down, or if, like my son, I were six feet+. If you have the room and intend to iron conscientiously, buy one. I could not be more pleased.
