I use this on an iPhone. There is certainly a cleaner sound using this mic versus the built in mic on the phone. I'm no sound engineer, but I can see those sound lines on the screen and they are pretty high with this mic. It needs to be brought down with editing software than can normalize and decrease the output. Especially for podcasting, vlogging, or the like.

I occasionally make youtube videos with my iPhone 12 Pro, and despite my phone having some amazing microphones for what they are, I still like to have a dedicated mic for vlogging or interviews. This is attractive to me because of how simple it is, you just plug it into your lighting port and start recording. I like to use Filmic Pro because it gives me great control of over the content that I create. I was able to get both the voice memos app and the camera app to use this mic by just plugging it in. The iPhone prompted me to ask if headphones were plugged in, make sure you answer "no", because the will only work if the iPhone doesn't think it's a pair of headphones. This mic comes with a wind muff and a hard carrying case for protection. The recording quality of my audio was enhanced by using this mic, especially in terms of cancelling out background noises and unwanted sounds like fans or people talking in a crowded room.
