I have an on-camera mic set from Boya. It is a very innovative design because it is a shotgun mic with a small lav transmitter mic attached to the back of it. It was a game changer because I could pin the small mic on my wife and then everything I said near the camera as well as everything she said at virtually any distance I could see her, and it was just as clear in the recording. So when I saw this little kit, I knew I had to try it. I really like how small everything is. And the really great feature with these is the dual channel recording. That way in the edit I can change the level of each independantly. These little mics are like a stick of gum or a chapstick. The case is convenient and I like that it is not a big bulky rectangle. It's only about the size of a kiwi. It can actually slip into a lot of spots in my bag or even my small sling. The only thing I am not crazy about is the really glossy finish of the case lid. It is already showing tiny scratches, just from taking it in and out of my bags. And you can close the lid with the windscreens attached to the lavs. I would have liked dead-cat style windscreens instead of these low-profile foam ones.As to the functionality, I have had no problem with the mics connecting to the receiver. And they do this as soon as I pull them out of the case. They each have an alligator clip to attach them. This seems strong enough but it would have been nicer to have some kind of magnet just because it's not always convenient to clip a lav to clothing because sometimes you can see it pinching or folding the fabric. The receiver plugs right into the side of my camera. This is just ok. I am a little concerned about forgetting it is in there while I put my camera back in my bag. I don't want to stress the port. I might buy a small extension so and figure out how to attach the receiver to another spot on my camera. This does not have any kind of adjustment. Just think of it as the same as your camera's mics, but closer. The sound quality is good. Not spectacular. I really don't like the way the noise canceling compresses the sound of speech, so I try to avoid using that. As to range, I really don't like getting that far away from what I am filming, but in one clip I made, my wife was somewhere probably about 100' from me with a couple walls between and the audio didn't miss a beat.

I have been slowly adding more equipment as I do more short form video. Getting a wireless mic set felt like a no brainer. I see BOYA recommended a lot on various how to and youtube tutorials so felt confident in this. I don't know enough about a/v equipment to really compare and contrast with other brands. But I like the sound quality and the mic itself is really easy to set up and use. Very happy with it overall.

Let me start with these are not bad microphones, however if you are expecting professional name brand quality (true professional grade sound equipment like Sennheiser or Lectrosonics) then you should be looking at a much high price point. If you want something in the same tier as the cheaper Rode microphones then this will fit the bill with out breaking the bank. These fit well into a rising trend in entry level/lower price point prosumer lavalier mics where the belt pack has ditched for a compact all in one with surprising battery life with some missing features to meet a lower price point. As with any microphone in this price range there are some caveats to be aware of mainly the lack of a headphone jack on the receiver for audio monitoring, a lack of individual mic gain/level adjustment, and an internal battery. If you need any of the above then you need to look in a price range. While everything above might sound bad for these, it is nothing you shouldn't expect in this general price range and I am in no way unhappy with these microphones, it's just about tempering expectations to the price point. If you are looking to get a start with two wireless mics for interviews or podcasting then these are a great entry option and will help you build up skills both in learning audio set ups and level editing in post production. Battery charge seems perfectly sufficient for anything short of a 3 hour interview and having a case that can help keep the microphones charged when not in use which is nice and likely a part of the slightly higher price point for entry level.

We do a lot of outdoors shooting and these microphones work great to help cutout background noise. The charging case is small and fits into any pocket. USB-C charging is great and they last a long time with the charging case. This was a great upgrade to using the internal microphone on the camera.

I've tested Boya products before and, hands down, they are one of the best budget (ish, lol) wireless lavalier mics on the market. The frequency response on these is amazing, and is better than you would expect! Don't let the fact that these are not the leading brand fool you! This kit comes with everything you need to produce quality vocals on your podcast or if you're going live!It comes with a stylish, futuristic carrying case/charging case (which is pretty much a standard feature of Boya wireless mics with very few exceptions), two wireless, independently chargeable mics with noise cancellation (another Boya standard), and USB-C based transmitter. This USB-C feature is advertised as iPhone 15 compatible, but that's only good marketing because Europe, and the rest of the world, has pretty much universally adopted the USB-C standard. With that being said, you can hook this up directly to your phone and go live with much more confidence because you will look WAY more professional than your peers and competitors!I was able to run this through the Adobe Audition and Audacity apps on my PC and it works flawlessly! This is a great set to bring with you when you need to conduct an interview or do a voiceover on the go!
