These are very thin and the perforations aren't very good, so you have to be careful when separating them from the roll. I ended up doubling them because the lid to my countertop bucket kept rubbing through when I only used one bag. It has no sharp edges but maybe the 2 bags provided some slipperyness that prevented cutting through? I'm trying a new brand now.

I wanted to improve my ecological footprint of garbage disposal in our large apartment building. I looked for a biodegradable, small-size product that was also economical. I first read online, multiple sources of info online about this general topic and then went to Amazon to see what I could find. This line of "WADNGXM" bags is the best solution I found for me.I needed a small bag for our countertop garbage "can" and the cost is about 10 cents each. The "plastic-like" material these bags are made mostly from is corn starch and is stated to biodegrade in land-fill, which is a harder test than when exposed in the open (but it passes that too).This is an excellent, economical solution without being unrealistic about what I can actually do daily in my 20th story, metropolitan, east coast apartment.They are strong enough to make it out of my building and break down in a landfill or other big city regional garbage disposal system and no, they do not melt! :-)FYI, the theoretically best solution for biodegradable garbage disposal is for you to use a REUSABLE CANVAS BAG or container, that you fill up every day and then empty in your yard to be made into mulch. This level of perfection can not work for me so, like most things, I needed to find compromises that also fit realistically in my life. THESE BAGS DO THAT.SIZES: The hardest part was picking the correct size bag for the unusually small "garbage can" I use since that info was not indicated on the unit. The bag measurements helped more than the gallon capacity so make sure the bottom of any bag actually RESTS on the bottom and you have allowed a 2 to 3 inches minimum for the bag to fold over the top edge to keep in place. Then the bag can be filled without it constantly dropping inside the container. "WADNGXM" sells 2 thru 6-gallon sizes in both green & white. (I liked what I call the "bio-green" to mark this new direction)
