Finish is pretty good. There are heavier ones with handles that are smoother than these stamped sheet metal parts, but they don't really work any better.These are open flow, what you want to use with a typical small 12v unregulated tankless compressor, a hand pump, or in my case, a vacuum line.With an unregulated tankless compressor or hand pump you clip this on the schrader valve, it depresses the pin in the center of the valve, opening it, and you start pumping. Disconnecting the chuck closes the schrader valve.Closed flow works the same except the chuck is closed, keeping the hose pressurized, until clipping it in place opens both the schrader valve and the chuck valve. Running a tankless compressor, especially one without a pressure control, into a closed chuck isn't a good idea.
