These pens are amazing! They write with such ease, and dry quickly. As a lefty…I appreciate that! They don’t smudge, which is another bonus for us South Paws. I have ordered them as a subscription, I love them that much’

I first bought these pens several years ago at Krogers grocery store. They caught my attention for being gel pens and for the great violet purple ink colour. Once I began using them, I knew I would never buy any other kind of pen again. I lived in bliss until this last year whence I began having trouble finding them. At first, I noticed that the violet ink colour was harder to find, and then I noticed the blue ink colour became scarce as well. Finally, it was hard to find even the black ink colour!I contacted Pentel and was told I could order them directly, but Pentel's direct price was punishingly exorbitant. I continued to search for the BL17-. I finally found some black ink colour ones at Office Max a few months ago and purchased several packs, but I really wanted the violet ink colour. It never occurred to me until today to see if they were available on Amazon. I am glad to say I found my beloved BL17-V on Amazon! I just ordered a box of 12. I think the BL17- series might be phasing out, though, as I have seen the retractable Pentel Energels in some stores around my town, and they seem to be replacing the BL17-. Bad idea Pentel! I do not like the retractable ones as much as the BL17- with the removable cap.These pens are very lightweight and unobtrusive in the hand, yet the ink flows very smoothly and is very vivid in colour and value. I seldom feel any fatigue or have any cramping of my fingers and hand whilst using these pens. I write a lot of snail mail, so I tend to go through a pen's ink supply pretty quickly, and so keeping a supply of these on hand is a bit expensive, but it is so worth it to be able to enjoy writing and to have the page look the way I want it to look. Over the years, my handwriting seems to have gotten worse and worse, but once I started using the BL17- , my handwriting actually improved a bit, and I attribute this fact to how easily, nay almost effortlessly, this pen makes writing, and this is so important if you have arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome. I hope they never stop making them because I have not found another pen to compare. I recommend the BL17- (any colour you please) to everyone! Pentel, please do not discontinue these great pens!!!!!

These are great pens. Very smooth writing. Writes until the ink runs out so no waste. And the best thing of all---they have PURPLE ink! My favorite color, my favorite pen.

I was afraid the quality would be less than the ones I currently use but that is not the case. they are smooth to write with and never skip. thanks!!!! oh and great price too!
