This is a nice 3/8 socket set for the price. It's very complete, even including a ratchet and a bunch of spare 10mm sockets. 10mm is the most common size on cars, so mechanics have a running joke (with the underpinning of truth) about losing the 10mm from a larger set. The phosphate coating is pretty good and shipped with just the right amount of oil to prevent it from looking or feeling chalky without being oily either.Sockets sizes are indicated with both stamping and high-contrast laser marking. At 60 dollars, this is definitely a budget set. It's on the better end of budget sets, and doesn't have any real problems, but there are concessions to keep that low price. The case is *almost* perfect. It uses metal hinge pins that will never fail (unlike folded plastic hinges), has molded labels for which item goes in each indent, and latches with cam locks that again do not incorporate any folding plastic. Unfortunately, one of the latches (which are separate pieces) tends to fall off of the blow-molded body of the case when released because of imperfect tolerances on the part of the case body that grips the metal pin of the latch. The sockets are CR-V instead of CR-MO (CR-MO preferred for impact sockets). There is a lifetime warranty, but only if "activated" within 3 months, which to me may as well be no warranty. They didn't advertise a warranty on the listing anyway (just a card in the product itself), so I'm not counting that against them. What I would consider an objectively "high quality" set with a reliable warranty costs at least 50% more, and that's not even talking about ripoff brands like snap-on (where $60 might get you *one* socket), so this is a good tradeoff between cost and quality.

I am quickly becoming a fan of BOEN tools for their quality and value. I ordered and received this 3/8-inch drive impact socket set, and I'm impressed.I received the socket set inside of a well-made blow-molded case. The tools arrived with a light film of oil to protect them from rust while in transit. Considering their transport from overseas, I appreciate this extra step. The set is about as complete as you could expect for 3/8-inch drive, but without 20mm sockets. The ratchet feels great in hand, and the reversing lever is easy to operate, along with the locking release button. I cannot detect any unusual binding or difficulty in operating the lever or button. The operation of the ratchet is smooth without excess slop. Each tooth, in either direction, engages confidently. The sockets have a hole that must align with the ratchet's detent ball, and it works as expected. Truth be told, I would have preferred sockets that have the 4-sided internal matching detent. These obviously do not have the pin pass-thru design that is held in place with an O-ring.I find that the ratchet is difficult to remove from the blow-molded case, unless I first remove the 10-inch extension. With the extension out of the way, I can then get a good hold on the ratchet's handle to remove it from its perch. All of the pieces remain in place while toting the case around. When I received the set, there was no loose piece. The universal joint is smooth and flexible. The universal joint and reducer adapters are marked CR-MO (chrome moly steel). According to the product description the set is made from chrome vanadium (CR-V), and all of the sockets and extensions are in fact marked CR-V. Only the ratchet is not labeled, but it's almost certainly CR-V.While CR-MO is normally desirable for impact sockets, I believe this set will be fine for the average backyard mechanic and home owner. If you plan to subject the sockets to frequent hard use, then you may want to consider an a CR-MO socket set. At minimum, wear good eye protection. I am a retired automotive mechanic, and I'm okay with the set as-is.All of the sockets are clearly labeled, and additionally stamped with the size. There are five spare 10mm shallow sockets included with this set. Seems unnecessary, but it's appreciated regardless.

Great set. Has all of the most used sizes in both SAE and Metric in regular and deep well.Variety of extensions to get the exact length you need either individually or in combination with multiples. You can use all of the extensions at once to get a total of 19” of reach.Push button lock on the ratchet works smooth and easy.Same with switching the direction of turn with an easy thumb lever. Much better than the twist-dial type that tends to move in the middle of using the ratchet, usually at the worst possible time. The sockets lock onto the extensions with a good click and are less likely to come off when removing from a bolt/nut.Just make sure you line up the spring ball on the ratchet and extensions to the corresponding hole in the extensions and sockets to get them to lock in.The ratchet comes back the opposite of how you have the drive set without any resistance, so when you're in a tight area, you do not need to hold the socket or extension to keep it from reversing the direction of the nut/bolt that you're working with.Since the sockets are impact rated, no need to switch back and forth and can be used with the manual ratchet, air ratchet, impact driver or gun.6-point sockets are less likely to strip bolts and are easier to get on a marred bolt or nut.Laser engraved markings are easier to see, but also have the indented engraving in case the sockets are covered in grease. The swivel attachment would definitely be good in a lot of instances when you're just slightly off center from a nut/bolt to get a good grip without slipping off or stripping the head and seems durable. The ratchet and extensions are a little hard to get out and put back in the case, but it will probably loosen up a little over time. You definitely don't have to worry about them falling out.The case is durable, but the latches could be a weak point, especially if someone thinks you're just supposed to pull them up all the way. They snap open and then unfold off of the corresponding tab and then out of the way, so if you lift up too far, they can break off. I have a transit level case that has the same type of latches, so I knew what to look out for.I would say the value is very good for this set with everything that's included, the quality and operation and I will update my review going forward if I encounter any issues using it over time.Going to put it to work this weekend replacing a water pump on a 2003 GMC Sierra, so will report back if necessary. For now, 5- Stars! The set was also shipped and received fast.

This is a great socket set very well made precision movement and the range of motion rivals quality top dollar setsNot sure how well they perform on an impact gun as I am not using them for that but I will say I would absolutely recommend this and buy this again
