Pin and spring assembly was disconnected on the fuel access door, apparently a common problem, causing the door to not close tightly. Replacing the pin assembly was the best option. This one is sturdy metal with cotter pin. A good value and better than replacing the whole housing assembly. Housing pops out without too much effort, you must access the tabs behind the wheel well while you pry inside the housing (by hand, did not need tools). Installing the new pin assembly was very easy. Reinstalling the housing was worrisome at first, as it seemed an impossible fit. Then it just popped right into place. Complete repair done in 20 minutes. Special note: When you pop out the housing, the fuel door will contact the side of your truck. Make sure you put painters tape and extra padding if possible. I only wrapped a shop rag over the door for padding, it was not enough and dinged the paint.

Used this to fix the fuel cap on my 2010 F150 that wouldn't stay closed, I thought about just buying a replacement but a lot of the reviews for those are not favorable. So I decided to try this, overall it's a simple install with plenty of youtube videos to reference, took about 10-15 minutes total. the door now snaps closed as it should, it snagged a little the first couple of days but after opening and closing it 15-20 times it's a lot smoother now. Overall this was money well spent and I feel that the aluminum should outlast the OEM plastic, although that lasted 11 years.

El kit es funcional y es de metal, debería ser mucho más resistente que el original de plástico.
