I used this to press headset bearing cups into a frame and squeeze some bearings back into bottom bracket cups that had worked their way out. It worked fine and the notches/latch on the pole that keep you from having to thread an entire rod is good. I also like that the handles un-thread so this can stow away in a more compact manner. What I didn't like is the rotating latch that lets you set the height of the unit tolerance was so tight that even with the latch "open" you have to keep wiggling the entire assembly just to get the bottom cone to come off. I used a file to fix this but I shouldn't have needed to do this. Also my unit was rusty when I received it but that isn't the end of the world.

Excellent headset press!TLDR-works on tapered head tubes just fine-press new cups in without the bearings in place-press one cup in at a time-press the upper cup first or your tool gets stuck in your head tube.Used to press in a new headset on my 2019 Capra with a tapered head tube. It 100% works great for pressing in cups in a tapered head tube.I pressed the cups in one at a time. Back the handle off a bit. Slide the tool down through the head tube. Slide up the bottom cup press as much as possible. Adjust the handle tighter or looser until the bottom cup locks into a notch nicely then gently snug the handle. Then press in the cup slowly. If you do one at a time they go in absolutely perfectly. Remove the bearings before pressing (press the new cups in without the new bearings). One note. One of the steps on the press cup is exactly 44mm meaning if you start by pressing in the bottom cup (as I did) you’ll actually press the tool itself into your upper head tube. Then the tool is stuck there. I ended up removing removing the handle. Dropping the rod through the cup that was stuck in place. Switching the silver slide locker to the stuck cup (simply unscrew it from the bottom cup and screw it into the top cup). Then slide the rod through the stuck cup from the bottom. Lock it in place to a notch. Remount the handle underneath and gently tap on the handle with a rubber mallet to pop the stuck cup out.The nice part is the press cups are exactly the same top and bottom so they both accept the silver locking piece. So if you install a tapered headset and your top cups are ZS44 or EC44, press the top cup first! Then press the bottom cup. The bottom cup press won’t get stuck because the step is 52mm, not 56mm. Other than that, this tool is very high quality and I’d highly recommend it.

Used it to install tapered headsets from Cane creak (1 1/8"-1.5"). The bearing seats fit great. Pressed in nice and straight (I do one cup at a time, I am in no rush). The thrust bearing worked so-so, I had to hold the bottom to keep it from spinning, but there are wrench flats to no issue. It would be easier if the quick release had a spring on it, but it worked fine with out.

This Unit is best suited for 11/8" Straight Head Tubes. I Installed a set of Cane Creek Zero Stack Cups 44 mm Top/Bottom in Semi Integrated Application flawlessly!. This was The best Price that I could find online for Pressing Head Tube Cups, even though it's made from Heavy Steel, but it's a Solid Unit for sure, and from what I've been told from online sales personnel Taiwan makes The better Quality Products than China etc.

I am very pleased at the quality and function of this press. I used it on a vintage mountain bike (Specialized Stumpjumper) and it worked great. For many years I have wanted a tool like this but they were always too expensive. This one is a great value and is very heavy duty. I really appreciate the quick adjustment feature that you generally only find on much more expensive presses.
