I bought this after looking at several different videos and tools on straightening wires when making jewelry. I was looking at another tool but most of my wires are small. This fits the bill. The only downside to this tool / manufacturer is that the pads have excess plastic on the edges of the pads. I had to take my fine razor edge and scrape off the little bits around the edges, and pick them off manually. Guess I get what I paid for. It comes with 2 extra pads which were unexpected, but no instructions where included on how to remove / install them. It has already been useful in straightening head pins that get bent during shipping, or straightening wire where you starting to bend then changed your mind. Also good for aligning small loops or straightening them vs using chain nose pliers which could mar the metal. For the price, happy with my purchase. I'll see how long they last.

These are much better than my original pair. Heavy and good quality. This is a really great brand if you break tools like I do!

I do a lot of 3D beading and occasionally there is some resistance in pulling my big eye needle through the tiny bead as I previously had to do 1 or 2 passes through the bead and in the past I always bend my needles trying to force the needle through the bead. The were bend so bad I had to use a new needle for each project. Thanks to these pliers I was able to finish a whole project and not bend my needle and able to use the same needle for several projects. When there was resistance I used the pliers and with very little effort the needle went through the bead with great ease. I am very pleased with these pliers and am very happy that they came with an extra set of nylon grips for if these ever wear out.
