The sheet metal that encloses the transformer is very thin, so I don't think it will withstand being bumped against a fixed object or something else heavy. Also, the power cord seems a bit thin for a 17-amp transformer, and where it enters the device, there's only a grommet and not a strain relief device. The device is rated for 110 V and not 120 V, so you cannot depend on the graduated scale around the dial or the built-in voltmeter to be accurate. All that said, it performs exactly as expected and so far it feels like a good value. Hence, 5 stars. Bonus: 5 spare fuses are included, which I've had to lean on once already!

After I powered it up as no load from power station as battery generator. It has shown; ZERO watt until I had turn on the toaster oven, as it rated to 1,000 watts. As my first experiment by reducing the voltage to around 95 to 90 volts. As wattage on same toaster oven at just 600 watts. As temperature were around 400 degrees for well rounded cooling, just like very small regular oven with much lesser amount of infrared harsh blasting burning heat. Also controlling suction on shop vac and also controlled corded power tools. It not for CFL and LED lights. Not for electronics and computers. Also not for induction motors.

I’m really impressed with this variable voltage regulator! It’s exactly what I needed for my projects that require precise voltage control. The setup was straightforward, and the unit delivers consistent, stable voltage across a wide range. It handles various loads effortlessly and allows me to fine-tune the voltage to exactly what I need, which has been incredibly useful for my electronics work. The build quality feels solid, and the adjustable knobs are smooth and responsive, giving me full control over the output. Whether I’m powering sensitive devices or larger systems, this regulator keeps things running efficiently and safely. The temperature and over-voltage protections give me added peace of mind when working with different setups. If you're looking for a dependable, versatile voltage regulator that provides precise control and top-tier performance, this is definitely the one to get. I highly recommend it!

I'm using the Beleeb 20 amp variable autotransformer to adjust my home's voltage for use with 100V Japanese electronics (Denon 100W amp and CD player.) House voltage at plug measures 120.0V, and with variac dial set to "90"(as per picture above,) the built-in voltmeter needle lies directly above the first "1" of the "110" marking (as per second picture above.) At such setting, Klein multimeter measures 99.9V out of both plugs on the variac. I would advise you to measure your home's actual voltage output at plugs, and confirm variable autotransformer settings with voltage output measured at each of its plugs. It seems to work as advertised, has a sturdy build, good tight feel to its knob, and, best of all, I do not have any new noise picked up by my stereo equipment downstream from the Beleeb unit.
