We didn’t expect to like and use this as much as we have. It was incredibly easy to install and looks great. It’s well made and slides in and out easily. No complaints at all. I’d buy one for every closet, if I had more closets.

I put in a valet rod recently and it didn’t take long for my wife to say she wanted one. Very handy to be able to pull out a shirt and hang it on the rod. I always fasten at least one button on my shirts when I hang them up, and the valet rod is very helpful for that.This valet rod was a little more work to install than my previous one. It uses two “bases” that you attach and then the rod support feet fit over them. Then you secure the rod with set screws.Our closet is made of units from that well-known Swedish furniture company. The closet sides have holes drilled for attaching shelves and drawer slides. I used the hole closest to the edge but unfortunately the valet rod was too short to reach the next set of holes. So I drilled a 5mm hole and installed the base. I then installed the rod and put in the set screws. The rod includes a tiny little hex wrench, but I had a lot of trouble getting one of the screws threaded. Finally pulled the rod off the bases so I could get the set screw threaded. If I install another one of these, I’ll get the set screws started before I put the rod body on the bases.The valet rod came disassembled. The instructions are decent, but didn’t call out the flared end (which faces to the outside when mounted) or the screw/washer combo that keeps the rod from pulling all the way out of the main body. Not a big deal, and I figured it out. But it would’ve been nice to have that explained.4 stars because this is a good-looking valet rod and it is priced much lower than the first one I installed.
