Works well, though materials feel a little cheap and there’s unnecessary slop in the fit between parts.

It does cost a lot considering what it is and how it’s made. The quality feel is that of a poorly manufactured sloppy piece. NOT smooth as the other California Closets rods we have. They cost over $80, so this is less, but, not so great. It DOES do the job and works just fine, it just feels a bit sloppy.

THe valet rod arrived quickly, well packaged, and undamaged. The valet road was a perfect size extension to add in my closet to hang some of my smaller purses that have chain straps. It was easy to install and I love how in is telescoping! You can add more as you go along! I feel like it would be sturdy to one point with clothes--especially jeans or heavier items. You'd have to make sure you anchored it properly. GOod product.

This valet rod can be a very useful addition to your closet. For example, when choosing between several items to wear, pulling this rod out to hold them while you decide or if you need a way to hold a suit or dress before putting it in a protective travel bag.It mounts easily using 2 screws and wall anchors (if needed). In my case, I had closet shelving previously installed. This rod lined up perfectly with the existing holes. The holes were a bit too large for the provided screws so I hammed in the wall anchors first, then attached the rod. It attached nice and tight and it will easily hold the weight of a few shirts or a business suit.The rod slides away nicely when not needed and extends 10 1/4" from the edge when deployed. In my case (as you can see from the photo) the closet is a bit cramped and while I can fully extend the rod, it's a little tight (but useable) to hang clothes on it when in use. So before you purchase this, make sure you can mount it somewhere with enough space for the rod to slide out and for clothes to hang.One other thing to note is that my closet shelving is only 1/2" thick. The screws and wall anchors provided are longer than this (about 3/4" long) so they poke out the other side in my application. It was not a big deal for me as the wall anchors are rounded and clothes on the other side of the wall where it is attached will not snag on the screw. So just keep this in mind and plan where you will put this before you purchase.Overall though it's easy to install, well made and a useful addition to any closet that can accommodate it.
