Points:+Affordable 10 pack+PTFE material is non-reactive+Good magnets+1.96 inch length ideal for my glassware+Smoothed edges free of poured seamSummary:I use these magnetic stir bars to make and scale up mycelium liquid cultures at home. Being an amateur mycologist, I frequently run out of stir bars when scaling up multiple liquid cultures at once. I regularly grow oyster mushrooms. Once I have isolated genetics from a batch that looks good I inoculate cultures and make syringes for future batches. This requires multiple liquid cultures set on stir plates to keep things growing.I’ve used a variety of stir bars over the years and have noticed that many feature rough seams from where the outer material is poured into a mold. That seam can require additional cleaning to keep things clean for sterility. The LABLPSAI stir bars are smooth and don’t have that problem. These are good stir bars and they perform as expected. What you see is what you get.

I work with fluids and do a lot of mixing chemistry in small batches. These are the perfect size. I cannot confirm that the material is PTFE and the bars look slightly thinner than pictured. They are definitely magnetic.

I received these magnetic stir bars shipped in a small nondescript plastic bag. There are 12 stir bars in the bag. These are Teflon coated and have a very nice nonporous surface finish and as mentioned in the title of this review, the magnets are good and strong. I put one on my stirrer and it performed as normal. I also held one on the stirrer plate so it couldn't rotate and it had a fair amount of rotational torque. A good amount of magnetic attraction was felt. As stir rods go these are very good.

I bought these as i needed longer stir bars for two projects. The first project involved calcinating some powders without letting them burn. The second project was hotplate stirrer scrambled eggs.Don't judge me.These stir bars are long enough to work good as a powder agitator and egg custard stirrer. Both projects came out well done (no fault of the stir bar). The quality of these stir bars is acceptable and probably excellent. I have only had them for a couple weeks and only made eggs 6-7 times so i don't know a lot about their durability but so far they have achieved the two goals of stir bars: stirring and not changing.i recommend these if you need long stir bars for any reason including custards.

Much to my wife's chagrin, I used a hot stir plate for cooking somewhat frequently. These stir bars fit right in. They are straight walled (no ridge), if that makes a difference to your application. These have worked well for mixing marinades, curing solutions, brines, and proofing and growing yeast. The PTFE coating has held up well to boiling water temps, and they are non-reactive. The magnet is strong enough to couple well with the various stir plates I have: from 70s era to a late model Thermo Isotemp, and even a home made jobber with some neodymium magnets on a motor with a cover. Overall, these are well made stir bars, and at (as of this review) $3 each, they are a good value.
