Acerca de este artículo

  • Synthetic Alto Saxophone Reed Soft
  • Bari is the top-of-the-line brand for synthetic reeds
  • Synthetic reeds will usually last several times longer than traditional reeds
  • They can still be chipped or cracked, but they will not wear out like traditional cane
  • The reeds are formatted to sound as similar to cane reeds as possible, but there is a slight difference

I've been using these on my alto sax for probably 25 years. They never need breaking in, never get over-saturated, never need trimming. They don't wear out. You show up, slap it on, and it just works. Sounds great. I haven't needed to shave or adjust a reed in years. The *only* downside is that they don't have a very fine thickness selection, so if you (let's say) normally get a 3 and shave down the shoulders a bit, you can't do that with these. But if the thickness profile works well with your mouthpiece... you're 100% set. You might have difficulty in the upper altissimo register if it's not perfect, but it's pretty darn close for me. Worth the tradeoff.I use a M with a Selmer S90 (180) mouthpiece, and a S with a Dukoff M Power Chamber mouthpiece.

This is just about the best reed i've ever used. It plays soft or loud, which is wonderful for a person like me being especially shy... I bought it about 3 weeks before school ended, and then fell in love and then went to summer band to find out my director does not allow them cuz they "sound sharp"... :c and we play 9 hrs. a day, 6 days a week, all summer. BUT thats not the companys fault that my director is a doody head >:(

Bought this for my son who is starting to learn sax and after breaking 3 wooden reeds in about 2 months. This one is still going. A little more durable than a wooden reed and he was able to start using it very easily with no adjustment to his playing style. Worth it

I have a tenor and alto sax and started using these when they didn't have any reeds in the size I wanted at the local music shop. The guy said he'd refund my money if I didn't like them. So with nothing to loose I took one home. I used it for 3 months playing for about 2 hours every day. Yeah, I was hooked. They are louder than cane reeds and don't require any set-up like getting them moist before you use them. You can pick up your sax and play. These reeds don't chip or require the attention of cane and they last longer. For the price of a box of reeds you get more playing time with less hassle. Buy one and see. I've converted to these and haven't looked back.
