A unique and refreshing build, coupled with a stellar design makes for the best HG Gundam in my collection. I highly recommend.

I was conflicted over whether I should buy this kit as part of my Thunderbolt collection, or to take the heavy hit and purchase the P-Bandai release. This kit contains everything you need to model the Atlas as it first appears in the anime 'Mobile Suit Gundam: Thunderbolt - series 2 (or the movie compilation 'Bandit Flower'). For some reason Bandai and the many online reviewers have been oddly cagey about the box contents, but be assured: box includes plastic parts molded in white, grey, black, clear pink, and yellow plastic, as well as a sheet of foil stickers, and a sheet of clear stickers. As reviewers have pointed out, the kit does not include polycaps, using instead all plastic-on-plastic joints. Nevertheless the kit builds up to an impressive figure with a high degree of articulation and poseability. Accessories include the complete rocket-powered surfboard/waterski/booster system, the original railgun (which the pilot discards after a single use), two heavy-duty rifles, and two beam sabers with exceptionally long, clear pink blades; saber hilts store in shoulder compartments, as depicted in both manga and anime. The foil sticker sheet is quite extensive, featuring thin striping, and critical detail to the ballyhooed 'Zeon-like joints'; to not use the stickers will require extensive and detailed painting to replicate. The clear stickers include the Side 4 Moore insignia, as well as the EFSF markings in both high and low-visibility grey. The kit does not include a stand; as this kit represents the only 'kitchen-sink' suit of the second series collectors might wish to obtain a stand in order to model some of the more memorable poses. As with most of the Thunderbolt series the kit is priced somewhat above the average Gundam kit, but the extra cost translates into solid value in accessories and features. Comparable in size to the 'Full Armor Gundam' of the First series, Gundam collectors may consider this kit an excellent addition to any collection.
