Not worth the price of the backpack. Three of the zippers have split and do not work on the first day of use.

I was looking for a good, safe, water-resistant backpack with a water bottle pocket for an upcoming trip to Italy and this bag met all those criteria. Plus it's cute enough to double as a purse so mission accomplished.PROS:1) Exterior water bottle pockets; I was surprised at the difficulty in finding a nice-looking backpack/purse that had water bottle pockets. Most either looked like hardcore backpacks or too much like purses w/no pockets. This is a nice hybrid. Plus it has lots of pockets (including a zip pocket) inside and an RFID pouch inside.2) Large enough to carry plenty of things but not so large as to be bulky on a small frame. (I'm 4'10")3) Well-disguised large outer pocket that doesn't require unzipping. (Good for quickly storing jackets, etc.)4) Small zip pockets on both sides for small things like phone, earphones, etc. (I don't plan on putting anything valuable in them while in Italy but handy to have otherwise .)CONS:1) The large circular handle at the top. I've been warned over and over about certain cities where would-be thieves grab bags of tourists from their motor scooters and zip away quickly. It seems to me that this large ring would be an easy handle to grab. I tried laying it flat towards my back to make it less obvious and difficult to grab but it's a large ring and pokes my neck, making it uncomfortable. Laying it the other way against the bag seems only marginally more difficult to grab than having it poking straight up. I think a standard fabric handle or smaller ring would be so much better and safer, not to mention more aesthetically pleasing. Plus, this ring is covered in something cheap and plasticky feeling (faux leather over metal ring) and has a big seam that is uncomfortable in the hand. Why not just use a sturdy fabric handle? Cheaper, lighter, and safer!2) No diversity in color. It would have been fun to have a cheery red but I settled for practical black.I'm happy with it pre-trip. We'll see if it measures up to my expectations in a couple of months!
