I'm new to ho railroads. A senior reliving his childhood after reading and watching some videos l chose the dcc comand. The locomotives are very nice design and detail are good. They run smooth i enjoy watching them. The rolling stock is also nice detail is good i like the track also. As a unit it performs well stays on track responds to the controller well. I'm very happy with this set plan on expanding it. My next purchase will be a locomotive with sound.

Found out that this is an entry level train and would not be suitable for someone who already had a layout. Returned it unopened.

For this price it is the best way to start with digital, I guess. You have the controller, zwo Locomotives and a bit of Track. The switch is not electric, you have to buy that extra. I still work on my Layout, so I can not tell, if I would need a Booster. So far it works great. There is also a under the track magnet for uncoupling magnetic Couplers in the set. A bit tricky...If you want to go fancy, this Set maybe to small for you. I see this as a Start. I can control up to 9 digital trains with it, the 1 Amp Plug In can power two trains easy. For me that is good enough for now.

This is an awesome dcc starter set for a newbie like myself. Care MUST be taken when assembling track as it is easy to missalign the rail connectors causing the train to derail......especially at turnouts. Take the time to examine all track before operating the trains and away you go. Also make sure ALL the tiny wheels are alligned properly on the tracks. Came well packaged and worked great out of the box. Comes with 1 manual turnout and no problem with derailing at max speed. Have ordered more track and dcc turnouts as the oval track gets boring real quick :-)) The digital command control is easy to use and program individual trains, switches, lights, sounds (If you have sound equipped locomotives...........next on my list:)All Aboard!!

El tren llego en perfecto estado, lo único que deja mucho que desear es que las vías del tren e-z venían dañadas y no se acoplaban bien unas con otras pero el command center está increíble.

The instructions were slightly lacking with expansion pack operation, but with the DC controller I figured out that turning to channel 10 then applying increased power is what will actually drive the track switches from the expansion track pack . I had to hook the switches in line before the main power connected to the track. Also make sure all your loops only allow travel in one direction. if you try to connect a loop so the track runs backwards onto itself it seems like it will short circuit out and the trains won't run.All the track pieces went together nice and smoothly, the trains both started on channel 3 correctly. It was super easy to switch them to channel 1 and 2. They ran at the same time flawlessly. There are lots of good youtube videos to help with ideas for layouts. I'd recommend this for kids 6-9 with adult assistance, and over 9 just show them how to be careful with the track connectors then let the kids work out the kinks.Overall a decent value for the quality and price.
