These were originally on my baby registry, but someone gave me the traditional plug inserts and I got away with those for a good while. Once my child became mobile he went right for the outlets and figured out how to remove them--so I upgraded to these. They have gradual edges so they are hard to force out with your fingers. You have to slide the button and pull on the tab to remove them from the outlet. I even have an outlet where the plugs are a bit recessed into the plate and I thought these might not work as well, but to my surprise they actually cover the gap well so they provide the same protection no matter how well the plugs sit flush to the plate.
