I trust Orico, I own several of their products, including the aluminum docking hub in the same photo as the keychain flash drive I postedWhat a great surprise. I did NOT expect the blinding fast speed of the product. It's a rocket in my pocket.Another great feature is the little blue activity light that is very easy to spot while in use.Finally, I love that I can attach this drive to my car keychain and have it handy on my tech jobs.Last week, I asked a general question on the product page on what kind of silicon wafer was inside the casing, but no one understood my question. I must report that whatever the wafer is at the center of the device, transfer speeds are crazy fast.For example, I transferred a 200 GB movie I made on my phone to this device and then to another PC on the USB 3.0 port. It transferred so fast that I did not see the usual transfer box. It appeared to be instant.Orico offers an 18 month warranty, but my Amazon Prime Visa extends that by one year. I would like to see Orico extend the product warranty to 3 years.This device is the most useful keychain utility device I have ever owned. The next test is how long it lasts in the real world.

This test was done with the USB formatted in NTFS. Read speed pretty good at 400MB/s but write speed at 150MB/s, pretty slow compared with the SSK SD301 (the first 38GB at 450MB/s, after that 50MB/s).The 128GB variant has no pSLC-Cache, so the writing sustained speed is 150MB/s, this speed is like my Samsung USB thumbdrive.The 256GB variant has very small pSLC-Cache of 3GB, so the first 3GB at 400MB/s and after that sustained 150MB/s.The old HYPER X USB A has sustained write speed of 275 and read speed of 400MB/s but is only USB A and does not become warm at all is better option than ORICO.SSK SD301 for files with size lower than 38GB is much better option and is less hot than Orico.

I had a hard time getting them to work with my embroidery machines, but that was the machine's fault not these. I purchased two and they both work fast and great. Haven't had any problem with them getting really hot like some have said. The old ones I had (forget the brand) would get very warm though.

Update:I've had this for about 16 months and use it in my job as an Application support specialist.I was working yesterday with another tech who had a regular USB drive and this one was significantly faster copying and moving files when using the USB-C connector.You never know when you buy stuff like this that is not a common brand but took a chance based upon the reviews and this has been great. Since one end is always open, I just keep it in the box in my backpack. It does get warm when moving a lot of data but never got enough to be a concern.Original Review:This is a really nice USB/USB C drive. It's super fast and the metal enclosure is really nice. I wish it had a cap for the end but besides that it's great.
