I got it as an alternative to google chromecast audio that may soon to start disappearing, even in used form. This extractor works great chromecast Hd and 4K, but its analog outputs volume is about 65%. It is not just means lower volume - it also means lower dynamic range of the audio. Analog output has no "circuit" noise (present on some inexpensive converter when operating), but it sounded narrow and compressed, so if you are looking for HDMI to analog audio, you need to keep looking. The good news - the optical digital output is at 100% (full dynamic range) and it is clean as a whistle. it means this unit extracts the 2ch digital audio from HDMI stream and just passing it to the amp, no messing around with audio data. I was comparing it to WIIM pro and found no difference in audio quality on optical out.

I have an older computer monitor and Android TV box setup in my garage. I was using an HDMI to VGA adapter that had an 3.5mm audio jack for my speakers. There was a lot of static with that setup and it only had one channel for audio. I found this and figured I'd try it, but still using the VGA adapter between this and my monitor. It works great, there's absolutely no static at any volume, and both audio channels work clearly. It was easy to set up and I just leave it powered on all the time. It was exactly what I needed for this setup.

Muy fácil de conectar y sin perdidas de audio y video como otros que he probado, conectado a un teatro en casa Samsung se nota un muy leve retraso, pero en mi Logitech z906 funciona perfecto reconociéndolo como decodificado para usar el 5.1. probado en pc y ps4.

It is great alternative for older version, had been using it till now and there are no problems whatsoever. It has a nice compact design and doesn't have any heating problems. Flawlessly performs all functions like picture quality and most importantly it transmits Dolby sond effects to my hime theater for which I basically bought it. So I would say one should go for it.
