I brought this into my studio and worked with it over several days. I really liked how well it allowed my vocals to punch right through the mix. It has a nice even midrange and when I do get up on the microphone, the result is nice and clean and clear. This microphone even picks up the little nuances in my voice and it adapted easily to my vocal changes and it handles my raspy notes with ease. This microphone allows you to get up close especially when using it for vocals against acoustic instruments and keeps the acoustic instrument from bleeding over into the vocal channel. This microphone gave a good solid performance in the studio and I can’t wait to try it live. This microphone is well balanced and comes with a storage pouch and a quality mike stand adaptor. I was very impressed with the results this microphone gave me throughout my vocal performance.

Audix is a great brand and this mic is no different. This mic did seem to limit the amount of stage bleed compared to the actual instrument it was recording. The mic has a solic construction, and the XLR cable fit snugly. I really appreciate the wide frequency range. Not sure what is the intended range, but I thought it sounded great for guitar amp, floor tom, voice, and even snare drum!

Simply wonderful. This mic is actually very great sounding. The nuance of the vocals and natural sounding audio pickup of this microphone exceed some of the leading microphones on the market today in my honest opinion. I have many great sounding mics, and this one, after putting it through some vocal tests has surpassed my expectations. I figured the mic would be good, but this has surprised me how actually good it sounds. There are various "flavors" of the OMX series mics from Audix, ranging in use cases, as a particular mic in the roster may do better in different scenarios. I opted for the "Studio and Stage", thinking it would fit better for my home studio use... and I am happy that it's been great so far. I find the vocals really come in clear and cut through very well, and it gives it a very natural characteristic and doesn't really stick to one particular characteristic but sounding great and natural. It does well on plosives and syllables and is very forgiving in distance. Some of the other "flavors" might do better on stage, or loud enviornments, feedback rejection etc.. This one is a great all-around fit.If you are looking for a relatively affordable and great sounding mic then this is a very worthy contender. The build quality is quite good as well. I've seen a YouTube video of someone dragging one of these around tied to a vehicle and it took some scuffs and bangs, and the mic was still operational and sounded fine. The inner capsule is delicate I suspect, as the "twisting or touching" will void the warranty, so the capsule sticker says. The capsule is very stationary feeling, an doesn't have the "coushion" effect like I see on other caspule bases... This however is not an issue for me as long as the mic sounds great. The handling noise is very minimal, so that is really nice. One thing about the mic is it has no On/Off switch ... but I'm not worried about that.Very happy to have this mic in my collection.

I've always been a fan of Audix microphones and I own quite a few of them. I had never tried this model, so when I saw it available, I decided to give it a shot.Priced in the range above the good old SM58, I entered into this hoping that the performance of this mic would exceed the 58 in terms of sound quality and definition. And for the most part, it does. The essential speech frwequencies are clear and crisp, and the bottom frequencies of voice come out well. This microphone is a Cardioid pattern with a good bit of tamable proximity effect, though not quite as much as the 58... and that's a good thing. The mic sounds very natural with female vocals and solidy robust with male voices. Will it replace my trusty SM58s? In some cases yes. I find it easier to get higher gain before feedback with female vocals and singers that don't project their voice well. Doing festival work I tend to try to keep things "generic" so the 58's will be my go-to mics for vocals, but when a little mouse of a voice shows up on the stage, this OMX-E will be used to try to make up the difference. It's an impressive mic with all of the positive attributes of the 58, plus it's a little better (more modern) looking and as I said... it really shines in some special use cases. I really like it.
