Nice flatter frequency response than a dedicated kick drum mic.Better in an old skool funk or classic rock band.

I ordered two pieces of Audix D4 from Appario Retail. Mics are excellent. Audix is a well regarded brand. But mic mount clip is missing with one piece. I messaged them but no reply yet.

I own 4 of these and they work great for floor toms. I've used them for floor toms up to 18 ". They are also good on rack toms especially if you want more a dark dry sound. I also use this to mic my Stanton Moore pandeiro. That's what he recommends. It is not a great bass drum mic at least if your kick is 22" or bigger. I think it would work well on an 18" bass drum because it's great on my 18 floor tom. Audix mics have some nice built in EQ which makes it much easier to get a great sound. I like these way more than my Shure sm57s. In general, I prefer Audix mics for drums.
