Initially purchased the Audix Dp7 kit which comes with 2 D2 mics. As a Conguero who plays a tricero setup (3 congas) I wanted the range to be covered and balanced. The D4 mic is capable of keeping up and catching the Tumba bass range a bit better as that's what it's suited for, so having the option to swap out mics is great; filling the demand of whatever is needed without having to do much EQ.The D2 is an amazing drum mic. It's application as a dedicated drum mic is superb. While they're are other brands that have a tad bit more clarity in pick up, these suit me and my need just fine per my ensemble. Very pleased.

These are really nice mics. They sound as good as anything at that price point.

The Audix series of drum mics are fantastic! Smaller and lighter than many other options. Sound quality is fabulous!
