Gaskets are a bit different, and the rubber insert for the side of the water pump was a poor fit. What's more, the timing marks are missing from the timing belt! A factory belt has painted marks to align with the timing gears. If you've ever done and EJ20 belt, you know that the cam gear marks never line up EXACTLY, so you need the marks on the belt to confirm timing is set right. I had to line up this belt to my old one and copy over the marks with a paint pen.

I installed this timing belt kit on my 2005 Subaru WRX STi, and it worked perfectly! The kit includes everything needed—from the timing belt to seals and a water pump—making the installation process smooth. The water pump casting wasn't machined properly and interfered with mounting. Because of this the pump didn't sit flush so when I torqued the bolts they stripped the threads out of the block. The seals are very rigid compared to higher quality seals.

I purchased this timing belt water pump kit, installed it in March of 2024, the car ran great for approximately 12,000 miles until the timing belt tore, now I have a wrecked engine because of bad parts, I removed the timing covers and all idlers and tensioners are in place and in perfect condition, the belt must be junk
