If you need a new landline (more people than you think still use them) this is a good choice. I purchased it to replace another brand that did not keep a charge well and I found that I had difficulty hearing. This phone answers those (pun intended.) The battery life is great and the sound quality is a vast improvement to what I struggled with previously. My sons have actually noticed that I do not need them to repeat themselves so much now. I was unsure about the need for the second line addition but I was wrong. Now I do not know how I did without it for so long. Great quality and connectivity. The handset weight is perfect. Large enough to see the number and call missed information, but comfortable enough to be able to use for even the longest call. I find I have an improved range for the phone. Allows for me to even use it on my front porch. Reasonable price. Easy to set up even for those not "tech savvy." This phone arrives quickly. The neutral color allows for a great look in my library/office as well as the living room where the second handset lives.

This phone has been a great phone, my favorite cordless phone ever, which I have used for around 4 years now, and I used a system with 3 handsets. The battery life for each handset lasts several hours of continuous talk time (about 6-8 hours continuous talk time per handset, when the phone is brand new... but even after 4 years of heavy use, my battery is still lasting for at least 4-5 hours of continuous use without any charging between calls). But if you're the kind of person who rests the phone on its base between calls, the battery will last even longer.Phone and speakerphone have excellent sound quality. When you press any button, the display lights up and the buttons 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 * # light up nicely, not blindingly bright (thank goodness), but not dim.If you have Caller ID service with your phone company, this phone will show you the Caller ID information for each caller, and it will store the information in its Caller ID history.I love the way you can delete a phone number from the Caller ID history just by twice touching the mute button, this process can go very quickly (some other phones I used in the past required you to make 4-5 button presses of many various buttons). You also have the option from the Caller ID menu, to delete ALL the Caller ID history if you want.If you have Call Waiting service with your phone company, and a 2nd call comes in while you are on the phone speaking to someone already, I have found that this phone usually will capture that 2nd caller's number in your history, so usually you can easily look up the number after your current call ends.Adding a number to the 50-number stored phone directory is simple also; you can either go into Phone Directory setup to manually enter a number and name, or you can go to your Caller ID history and save a particular number from the history by first pressing 1 to add a 1 prefix (if the number is long distance from you), then pressing your Menu key on the handset, and unless you want to change anything, press Menu again and again to save the phone number and name to your Phone Directory.I like the way your history and directory sync between all the handsets, and this process happens instantly. This phone only stores 10 Recently Dialed numbers, but that seems to be the maximum of any phone I ever tried before. This phone has 19 very pleasant built-in ringtones that are varied in their style and loudness. Once you choose a ringtone, you can set the volume of the ringer from level 1 (quietest) to level 6 (loudest), or you can set the volume to OFF. This phone does not allow you to download or upload new ringtones. But I am very satisfied with the built-in ringtones; a few sound like traditional phone ringers, a few sound quite melodic, one is even a bit mysterious-sounding.There is a pleasant soft beep sound when you press the keys, which you can turn ON or OFF.This is one of the LEAST slippy-skiddy cordless home phones I have used. But I would recommend purchasing some non-skid stickers for this phone, and use them. This phone is very smooth and its backside is rounded. So you need to make sure to use the non-skid stickers unless you want it to go sailing across the bedside table when you reach for it at 3am. And if you walk around with a phone on your shoulder, it is even more important so that you don't drop the phone easily as you're walking. That said - this phone is no rounder nor slicker than any comparable phones I ever used by other major brands. If you have your AT&T base model already installed, then this handset will only need a power outlet, you don't have to plug this handset's charging base into any phone jack, only a power outlet. Registration of my 4 BRAND NEW handsets recently went very smoothly by following the instructions that were included, and it was a VERY simple process.I de-registered my old handset (this took less than a minute), then re-registered it for a clean start (this took about 1 minute), then I registered the new handsets in about 1 minute per handset, it went very fast. Note that de-registering my old handset did not delete its information; Caller ID and Phone Directory and Recent Calls etc were both preserved in my old handset, and the information transferred automatically to my new handsets once I registered all the handsets. If you have an AT&T base model which contains an Answering Machine, then you can check your messages from your Handset Menu and perform some other Answering Machine functions, although I am not an expert on this, I have not used my Answering Machine enough to give you much feedback about how it works. You can set a speed dial number for the numbers 0 through 9 on your phone's keypad. The only thing I consider a con, for this handset/base, is the base itself, which is too lightweight for my liking. Sometimes when I'm trying to set a handset onto its base, the base will slide a little, and it annoys me. However, with the AMAZING long battery life on these phones, I don't even have to hang them up very often, so it is really a moot point for me!! Therefore, to me, this con is negligible! When you rest this phone on the charger base, there is a red LED light that glows softly at the top of the phone. If you have this phone in a bedroom, you might want to cover this LED so it doesn't make light while you're trying to sleep. But the red LED light is helpful so I know the phone is definitely charging, so I like it.Note that with the deletion of phone numbers from the Caller ID history, the Redial history, and the Phone Directory... this does almost immediately sync with all the other handsets in your phone system. So this system is not a good system IF you want phones that have handsets which do NOT SYNC. If you have 5 handsets in this system, and 5 co-workers or family members using the handsets, then they will all have to share the 50-item Phone Directory, and if someone deletes a number, it is deleted for everyone. That might be a con to some people, so I felt it was worth noting.Note that this handset/charging base does not function on its own; you must register it to your AT&T compatible main telephone base; so be careful to read the product description for this product, and double-check your AT&T main telephone base model to be sure of compatibility. And you might be asking yourself: if she loves this phone so much, why did she have to order new ones? As I said before, I am very clumsy. I have a bad habit of dropping my phones into dishwater, bathwater, and sinks full of water. This phone is not waterproof. But I love it so much, I continue to replace the handsets as I kill them with water. I hope this review has been helpful.
