I didn’t notice any additional clarity viewing from a moderately-light-polluted area. It’s not worth the change in color for me. I’d rather get the view that’s practically the same and not tinted. I realize these filters aren’t meant for looking at the Moon, but I included a picture of the Moon with and without the filter a couple minutes apart for reference. If I’m looking at a nebula, I want to see the real colors the way the Lord made them. I’ll buy a better UHC that doesn’t tint my view.

I have a closet full of brown leather shoes (maybe too many!). Good but not highly expensive. After years of neglect and me watching a few videos on shoes- most recommended this brand of conditioner or polishes.Once I received this, I nerded out and collected all my shoes and sat down to start bringing them back to life ( while watching football of course).I used a microfiber applicator and swirled it around in the tin.Goes on smooth. Most of my shoes were so dried out i had to apply twice. After a good brushing with my horsehair shoe brush ( if you don't have one - there are good sets on Amazon) they were revived. The one picture with two shoes shows a one with no polish the right one with one application. The other picture is of the shoes I'm wearing at work that I haven't worn in two years because they looked sad.It restores the color and richness of the leather. It also softens them up a bit.The brushing adds a bit of shine but all but 2 pairs really aren't "shiny" shoes. Those two pairs were night and day difference.I really didn't know how important good polish is...and actually taking care of leather shoes.Watch some videos...then get to work. It's actually pretty satisfying and relaxing ( even though my wife just rolled her eyes at me with my stack of shoes).Plus, this tin should last a long time.

Keep your expectations realistic for visual astronomy. I have an 8" Dobsonian and live in a moderately light-polluted area (Bortle 4/5), so I can already resolve rather faint details without any filtration. When looking at M42 (the Orion Nebula) there is significantly better contrast and definition on dust lanes, and when using averted vision there is a moderate increase in the amount of nebulosity visible. Keep in mind that any filter will decrease the overall brightness of your target, so allow your eyes to adjust before making any judgments.

Viewing through a 6' dob, live in a Bortle10 area, and waited for the moon to "set" at 3:30am. Viewing in Sagittarius, viewing due South, 10 miles North of Charlotte. Went straight to Lagoon Nebula. Ive tried a general LPC (light pollution filter) in the past which helps. However with the LPC, I was only able to make out half of it. With the UHC, I was able to see both halves, and the dark lane through the middle. Had a similar experience with the Swan/Omega nebula. In the past could only make out the "body" of the Swan. Last night I was able to view the "head" as well as wisps of clouds, off the tail. I have never been able to make out the Trifid or Eagle Nebula until last night. Both were very faint and could make out very little detail. I have no comparison to other UHC filters. However if you are on a budget like myself and cant spend $100 on a filter, I feel like you will enjoy this filter. Very pleased with the purchase and details I was able to see.

This is, so far, my favorite purchase for my new telescope. I can see the Orion nebula now (which I could not see in my light polluted sky) previously. It is very faint, but I can see it now! One of my unexpected favorites to look at with this new filter is Betelgeuse because I can see it and its color so much better now.The filter came with a very nice, sturdy, case as well.
