I bought this last minute before a trip to help contain our toddler. It was fairly easy to install (and store) and definitely did a better job of keeping her from slipping out of her seat than the regular seat belt would have done. (I wish there was a way to have a between the leg strap, but...) My little one is quite little (near 20lbs at the time), so this was definitely an improvement. Not sure if it would be as helpful for a slightly larger child.

This worked so well on our recent flights. Thought it was going to be hard. But early boarding This was so easy to setup that our little one enjoyed being strapped in.

This device is a reasonable alternative to lugging a car seat on to a plane. It fits over the seat back and could cause objection by a passenger seated behind it if it interferes with using a tray table. We ran into a problem with Alaska Airlines at SEATAC because the gate attendant had never seen one before. A manager was called to help and we were permitted to use it. The device is approved but be prepared for dealing with gate and flight attendants who may not know it. It impressed us as well made and easy to use.

Super helpful during our flight with 2 year old. Compact and easy to store. Easy to install, did not bother the person behind us. We had to ask them to lower their tray for us to remove it after landing.Much easier than travelling with a car seat.
