Bought a cheap uke off eBay it had the factory cheap strings on. Swapped for these and the tone improved vastly and the strings stayed in tune better onces they had finished stretching.

Having spent quite a bit of money for a tenor uke that was already strung for lowG, (and worth every dime as it was an excellent instrument), I decided to restring one of my other ones. Namely the Paisen rosewood tenor that Amazon sells for about $100. Just the G string. This is an excellent string. It plays ands sounds really good. You can order different lengths depending on if your uke is tenor, concert, etc.Changing a string is a bit of a challenge for an amateur, and you want the finish on the bottom ends to match the existing strings. There are different styles of bridges and ways to insert the end of the string. There are good instructions on You Tube. It took me a few tries to get the top part wound properly on the tuning peg, but as long as you don't cut it off you can always try again.I'm glad I restrung with the low G. It gives you a lot more range of notes. When it's time to replace the G on my other uke I will get this kind.

I want to use low G string but unfortunately not available locally. Hence selected one on Amazon. The string was specially imported and hence pricey due to import duty etc.. Amazon delivered early. It is a metal cored and hence stiff as against other nylon strings.Could not see the result as it broke during the winding itself. Nylon wrapping detached near the peg on the bridge. I suspect, even if it was not broken, would not last long.

A perfect sounding string! The crisp ring these strings give is undeniable, they are the best you can get. Your ukulele is going to come with crappy strings, change them to Aquilas! These strings can turn a pretty cheap ukulele into a fine instrument. I ordered the strings and the ukulele together and had the strings changed right away, which will run you about 10 bucks. I learned over the summer so I tuned the string every time the went out of tune for about 3 days, then whenever I played for the next week. The strings are testy at first but once you have had them tuned for a few months they RARELY go out of tune. A wise investment and I would recommend them to anyone!!!
