This fuel pump was a fraction of the price of OEM fuel pumps that were available through Audi dealerships. I'm always a bit hesitant to replace the high quality OEM parts with replacements made in China but the difference in cost ($750 vs. $180ish for this one) was just too steep in this case.Visually, this pump looked identical to the OEM pump that I pulled out right down the color of the plastic housing. This pump includes a new float sensor that also looked identical to the OEM float. The repair involves removing the right rear seat including the seat bracket. Under that seat is a metal plate that is removed, and under that you find a circular metal retainer that holds the pump in place. Be sure to disconnect the battery fully before any of this work to ensure you don't cause any spontaneous explosions around your tank. The pump being replaced will have quite a bit of residual fuel in it so let it drain for several minutes at different angles to get as much out as possible. All in all, I'm very glad I spent a couple hours doing this job myself for $180 instead of paying a mechanic closer to $1000 for the same end result.
