The item was not like pictured, and the pestle didn't fit in the bottom of the mortar properly. Returned it for refund.

Compared to a ceramic mortar and pestle I used, this is so much better for blending DIY mineral makeup because the powders do not get stuck to the sides. So it's easier to clean and less product is wasted. The mortar has a good weight, so it doesn't sift around as I'm working. I also like the spout which makes pouring into containers much easier.
