I purchased this item for my daughter's summer dance class. She wears a size 14 (adult). So I purchased a large. It fits really good. Great strong, comfortable material even after washing.

I loved how these felt and I think the material will last along time!I haven’t worn a leotard for a long time! But this one does seem to be running really really small!I normally am a size medium or Large (large mostly when I want things to fit loosely) I am 5’4” and weigh 130 lbs so average size I would say. And I ordered a Large because it seemed the best choice, I was able to get it on but it was very very tight, I could almost not breath… so I Got an XL thinking that would suffice, again I was able to get it on and I think it for pretty well overall for my size. I however didn’t feel super comfortable wearing it (maybe that was just my lake of wearing them) so I ended up getting the 2XL and it feels a lot better for me! I know size really doesn’t matter, but it definitely makes you feel bad having to get a 2XL…. Haha anyway over all I loved this leotard and would definitely recommend it but you really do need to think about how tight you want it or not, and if you don’t like it really really right size up one or two sizes. 😊

I wasn’t sure how this was going to fit since leotards, and especially ballet dresses, tend to run quite small even in the straight sizing.I’m 5’ 4”, ~230lbs, and broad with a bit of a belly, wide hips, and a fair amount of chest.I ordered this in the 3x, as I noticed on the size chart that the measurements were a relaxed/unstretched measurement. Between the borderline measurement and it being some odd brand compared to what I used to buy when I was a more serious dancer, I was skeptical, but the price was good so I thought I’d give it a go.SO glad I did. It does run tight, but not in a motion-restrictive way. I like my dancewear to fit quite snuggly, as it helps hold things in, improves lines, and helps with proprioceptive feedback. And this does all of the above.Neckline is also high enough that I don’t need to invest in a special ballet-geared bra just to hide one under the bodice, which is super helpful. And the fabric quality is exceptional for the cost. Every bit as good as my Balera, Capezio, theatricals, and Natalie’s practice leos, if not a bit better than all of them.It is extremely plain in design (to me that’s a plus!) and the attached skirt is not quite a true high-low or SOB skirt, but somewhere in between. So depending on your school’s or company’s uniform policy, this skirted leo might work well for class as well as individual practice. The shaping of this ballet dress/skirted leo is classic ballet, same for the leg line under the skirt.I don’t know if I’d want to use something this stripped down for a performance, but I do think it could handle the workload of one if that was you’re aesthetic preference. But if you always wear some kind of skirt to class, or else just feel more comfortable practicing in a more modest leo that doesn’t inhibit seeing what you need to see in the mirror, then this could be the leo for you.I’m definitely going to check out this brand’s other dancewear and see if I find anything I like, as I would love for this to come in both a sleeveless/wide strap tank top as well as in a 3/4 or long-sleeved version.
