Sturdy and can hold higher weight load than some other stools.

The stand is heavier than I expected. it's very solid and good for studio use, but I wouldn't use it for gigs as it is significantly more difficult to setup and adjust than similarly priced "name-brand" stands. The seat itself is odd. It's thick but very firm. For the price, I was not expecting Roc-N-Soc quality, but this has less "cushion" then my old seat, which is half as thick.

I love this throne. It's very sturdy and comfortable. I'm a big guy, about 250, and this throne has never even had a weird shift. And for the price, you cannot beat it. I give it five stars, only because ten starts isn't an option.

I've been playing drums for over 20 years. I tend to like the motorcycle style throne shape for some reason. I'm not sure if it's just that there is better room for your legs to move, or what. This throne is not to the same build level as a brand name drum company product, it is not quite a s sturdy and most importantly, seems to have a smaller stance and possibly not be quite as solid feeling as a result. I would classify it as medium duty. But it is a fraction of the price of the big name expensive thrones I'm used to using. The biggest thing I noticed is that it's stiff, it's hard, a bit uncomfortable for me. Stiffness of a throne is a very personal preference - too stiff and a long session of drumming is going to be uncomfortable. Too plush, and you might not play as well because it's not supporting you properly and you might even be bouncing up and down a bit as you play, which isn't usually a great thing. Anyway, out of probably 40 or 50 different thrones I've sat on playing on professional quality kits, this one is the stiffest one I've sat on. It is also entirely possible that after a bit of use it will soften up. In fact I imagine it will. So maybe not a biggie. Especially at the price.
