So far I can tell that is at least as well made as the original.I don't know if they improved since other people reviewed it, however mine is made from sturdy plastic and seems the same or stronger than the original. As other people say, keep your original screw, you may need it. A self screwing screw is delivered, and that's the one I used, however if in time I'll find that is not enough, then I'll change and use the original screw and nut.So far, so good, I do recommend it.

Don't be a savage like me, who just wripped open the latch without thinking about the ring each time I finished ride.If you do wind up breaking your latch, this is a suitable replacement. Not exactly the same as the original but it's more than fine.It comes in two pieces (a top and a bottom to form a ring, but you actually only need the top portion of that assembly(the part that has the latch insert). When you unscrew the existing latch (using the 3rd to smallest hex tool/allen key), it comes off pretty simply, but do not use too much force for fear of breaking it. Same with the insertion of the new one. Use mindfulness to put it on.Don't waste your time calling segway for customer service. You can have this part the next day and replacing the existing is the easiest form of "handiness".Also be mindful that this assembly comes with a tiny crew and needs a screwdriver to put back on, not a hex or allen.5 minute fix. No warranty or shipping bullcrap.
