Little pricy compared to other bass knobs but you pay for quality and this is a great bass knob

Slick. I like it. My sub box is this tiny, custom thing stuffed into the armrest console in my Jeep Wrangler. To maximize the space for the enclosure I had to make some decisions. One was the obvious one that we TJ owners have to make when building a new box for the console: ditch the storage container. Normally you do this and leave a couple of inches up at the top for the head unit's faceplate or your shades. I decided to screw down my armrest lid and build the box to the top for extra air space. This left me with a hole in the plastic for the lock cylinder. I designed a wedge cutout in the top of my box for installing the RUX Knob with the knob in that hole, just high enough to operate easily but not enough to hit your arm so that you do not accidentally reset your sub level whenever you slide your arm around on the rest. It is very slick, and the Alpine knob is great for this. My only beef is that there is only one option for the plug. It would be really great if it had two sockets: the one on the back and one on one of the sides, perhaps with a snap-in cover for the unused one. This would have allowed me to save nearly an inch of cutout to the sub box top. Great, well made product. Why did it not come with the amp, Alpine?

Updated review-Ok, so as I mentioned, I have the alpine pdx-v9 5-channel amp installed in my truck. There were apparently some wiring issues with the truck, because I finally broke down and took it to a professional installation place and they were not only able to get my head unit dialed in, the subs fulling hitting, and backup cam working...but the bass knob actually works now. When you turn it all the way down, there is pretty much NO HIT from the subs. Turn it all the way up and you have unrestricted bass from the subs. Its really awesome for quickly adjusting the subs if they are being overdriven by a certain song. Some songs are just too heavy on the base, per my settings, so being able to quickly adjust a knob to get just the right amount of bass is awesome...that's what I was hoping for when I initially bought the thing. I am now VERY happy with this bass knob.Prev review-I purchased this bass level control so that I could quickly adjust the subs on the fly without having to go into the settings menu in the head unit. Well, I got it all hooked up and I have to say that I am completely disappointed. It says that it offers 12db of control on the package, which I guess just isn't enough control. Either that or I just got a bad one because I turn it all the way down, no change, turn it all the way up, no change. And this thing is supposed to be plug and play. I am sure I could do some testing to see if it's working properly but I pulled the entire interior of the car to run the wires...and I don't feel like taking it all back apart again to trouble shoot this little knob. I would say that you are better off saving the $30 because in my experience it isn't worth it.
