Patented Ultra-Compact Design
The patented design of the AL and MT racks fits most sedans, SUV's, hatchbacks and minivans, and allows you to fold your rack down to a size smaller than a shoe box. This delivers great benefits in terms of transporting and storing your bike rack when not in use (Note: MT Rack shown).
Patented Tie-Down System
Allen's patented individual tie-down system secures and protects your bicycles. The tie-downs are fixed in position on the carry arm, but rotate so that the can engage a wide range of bicycle frame sizes and styles (Note: AL Rack shown).
Padded spine to protect bicycle

About Allen Sports
Dick Allen (pictured left in 1972) started Allen Sports in his garage in 1967. Since its founding, the company has been committed to producing the highest-quality, easiest-to-use bike racks and bicycle related products on the market. Dick, a onetime aerospace engineer, opened Allen Sports after building a prototype bike carrier in his Lincoln, Massachusetts shop in his free time. The first ever trunk-mounted bicycle carrier--made of electrical conduit, metal strapping, and fire hose casings (for padding)-- was thoroughly tested on weekend excursions to Cape Cod. Shortly afterward, Allen took his design to market, and by 1971 had established a national presence for his product.
Today, the family owned company owns more than three dozen patents, operates four warehouses nationally, six factories abroad, and sells products in countries around the world including USA, Mexico, Canada, and China.

I was worried to buy a bike rack as I have never used one before. Seeing as I have quite a small car I was thinking it might not be compatible, but it is perfect. It’s SO easy to put together, (you don’t even have to put it together you just open and close it). One of the pins to open it did get stuck but all I needed to do was get a little pocket knife and jam it back out. It holds the bike very well, and is really sturdy. (please ignore that it’s slightly wonky in the first photo I was still figuring out where I wanted it) The extra long straps are used to attach to the bike to hold it better.

Werkt prima, gaat erg makkelijk op de auto. Goed vast te zetten. Verschuift niet en fiets blijft erg goed op z’n plek. Heb er wel extra stang bij gekocht.

Gefallen tut mir das man es so kompakt zusammenfalten kann das es keinen platz im Kofferraum einnimmt.Es wirkt auch sehr stabil und habe da überhaupt keine Bedenken das da was brechen könnte.Die Installation ist auch sehr schnell am Auto erledigt wenn man einmal die Gurte auf die richtige Länge eingerichtet hat.Einfach oben einhängen dann der untere Haken und festziehen fertig.Was ich allerdings ersetzt habe sind die Spanngurte an der Fahrradhalterung durch valonic ANT - 4X 35cm Spanngurte.Die vorab angebracht waren waren Spanngurte mit so einem Plastik Schloss.Umständlich das immer einzufädeln.Mit den neuen ist das um einiges einfacher.Zusätzlich sollte man noch einen Spanngurt für den Lenker anbringen ansonsten bewegt er sich während der Fahrt.Mein Fahrrad hat ein Gewicht von ca. 18Kg und immer ein sicheres Gefühl bei den Fahrten gehabt.

Perfecto para una sola bici, ademas trae su estuche para guardarlo y lo puedes guardar en la cajuela sinque estorbe

Para proteger la pintura y la superficie del carro, se recomienda visualizar tutoriales que guíen paso a paso el proceso de montaje y también considerar el uso de protecciones adicionales para prevenir posibles daños como piezas de cartón, cinchos para inmovilizar la rueda delantera y los pedales y cubrir los pedales con algo suave.

Al no tener cinchos para sujetar por los costados hace que el rack y la bicicleta se levante muchisimo cuando vas en carretera a mas de 80 kms/hr no lo recomiendo para llevarlo en carretera, tambien al tener los "brazos" separados el cuadro de tu bici debe ajustar, si tu bici es mas chica o grande no va a quedar en los brazos al igual si el cuadro es muy ancho.Sirve para transportar la bicicleta solo dentro de tu ciudad.

I've waited over 2 months to write this review because I wanted to get a good feel for this mount. A lot of people here have posted reviews that made me question my purchase, but .. I'm starting to feel like American consumers are more snobby and picky when compared to international buyers. Anyways, I digress..I clenched my cheeks when I drove over every bump the first few weeks with my bike on this mount. Handled it all with ease. Reliable in all weather and doesn't move whatsoever. Your bike might bounce a little if you hit a pothole, but it will not fly off. The straps that hold the bike in place could be a bit better and it's the only thing available to secure your bike to the mount. However, they do the job right and very efficiently/safely. The straps don't come loose whatsoever when you're driving. You need to pull them tight and secure them, so maybe some people who've had bad experiences didn't have the strength to pull on them? I don't know.The mount sits very comfortably and without causing damage to my car. I drive a 2014 Ford Focus hatchback and feel very comfortable with this mount on my car and even using it for longer rides. By holding it a lot and messing around with it on an almost daily basis (and...ya know.. using it) I can tell this thing will stand the test of time for years to come. It's sturdy, weighty, all-around hefty and I love it. Very happy.

Es un producto muy útil si tienes una Bici, tengo una bici de Trail - Enduro y cabe perfectamente, no se mueve, aunque no la he ocupado para viajes largos, creo que es útil para viajes cercanos o usarla de Lift. En todo caso es útil si tienes auto, el inconveniente es que solo es para una bici, pero supongo que después podré comprar otro para amigos. 👌🏻
