I use this vest when I dress up like a hobbit. It's very cute! I like the green plaid, the cut, and the lapels. The fit seems true-to-size. It seems very well made, and I do a lot of sewing (including sewing other vests) and am picky about garment quality. No buttons have even fallen off! I have two vests and two bodices for my hobbit costumes, but this is my favorite of them all to wear.

These vests from Allegra K (I was inspired to buy another one!) are, in my book, top of the line and just the wardrobe piece needed to elevate some of my work attire. They are beautifully tailored, fit well (I have a difficult time finding figure defining pieces that fit at my waist), are fully lined and reasonably priced. I will be purchasing more!

I've spent a lot of time seeking just the right classic styled vest to wear over my button down blouses. I ordered the XL in this vest and it ended up being way too big for my 5'9'', 180 lbs. pear-shaped frame. However, the style should work in the next size down, IE a large, because the armholes ought to still be large enough to be worn as a vest, over my slightly roomy button down blouses, unlike many other vest designs I've tried.I'm not usually a fan of 100% polyester, but this vest fabric doesn't look or feel like polyester. It also doesn't have the inherent shininess of a lot of all poly fabrics. The color combo is quite different from anything I'd normally order (usually brights and jewel tones), but it looks great over my crisp white and clean true black button down blouses. I'm pretty sure it will work with others, so I've ordered the Large. I just hope it's long enough for my long waisted torso.This vest design comes in a lot of color combos. I'd be willing to bet at least 1 color combo will catch your eye enough to try it. A vest like this can be worn many different ways, classic, modern and even boho depending on what you pair it with. Assuming the large fits me right, I'm looking forward to trying it with my blouses.UPDATE: after trying on the large (a size down from what I first ordered) which fit nicely except it was too short for my preference. I ultimately decided to return both sizes. Besides the fit, It just didn't look good with my skintone. Lastly, as 100% polyester, it wasn't very insulative. It's cold in cold weather and hot in warmer weather. I really wanted a classic style vest as a warm laying piece for the cold months, almost half the year here in SE Idaho. That's not what this vest gave me, which was disappointing because I like the classic style.

Excellent manufacturing and pattern matching. Although the article is polyester it still looks very smart.:Some sizing issues. Medium in one colour significantly smaller than medulium in another.
