Low quality materials. It has a cheap feel to it. Be mindful that this is for use on tools and around here tools have a hard life. I don't expect this adapter to withstand the same abuse as a Dewalt, or a Ryobi for that matter. It also adds a significant amount of bulk that gets in the way so it's not really user friendly. But, it does what it's supposed to. There is no issues with it's advertised function. Aside from the obvious voltage difference between the to two platforms I can not see where this hurts the tool outside of a slightly less power from a fully charged battery from the respective platforms.Where this stands out is the value. for this price it adds a lot of possibilities to the the tools already in the shop.

Every once in a while I'll come across what looks like a good deal on a Dewalt tool -only problem is all my tools are Ryobi and one tool isn't enough to make me add another whole set of batteries and chargers. this is the answer. Slid this into a Dewalt grinder and added one of my Ryobi batteries and it was off to the races! This will definitely open up possibilities on some future deals.

This is a very handy item to have in the garage and is a great workaround to keep from having to buy different batteries and chargers. My Ryobi batteries fit just fine and then the whole thing is a perfect match for the couple of Dewalt tools that I have. Yes, it's using an 18v in place of the standard Dewalt 20 volt, but so far I haven't run into any issues that have presented a desire for the 20v Dewalt battery. I gotta say I'm happy and even happier that I don't need yet another kind of battery and charger clogging up my workbench!

Not an issue, but more of a heads-up: it will drain your battery if you leave it attached.
