When I plug it into the wall it powers on. When I plug it into the device and turn it on it powers on. It doesn't get overly warm, make any weird noises, or smoke, etc. So I'm guessing it is working as expected. No complaints!

Actually bought this power supply to power several (4) cctv hi-def ptz audio cameras using a power splitter. Item came well packaged and neat. The label on the power supply states that the 5A is max and nominal is 4.17A. So I tested it with and without the cameras and the voltage was 12.6V unloaded and went down to to between 12.2 to 12.4 loaded depending on motor or ir light activation. Noise was not noticeable viewing the camera images on the dvr. No hum or heat noticeable emanating from the power supply. It came with ample cord length on both the input and output side (about 3ft AC and 4 and 3/4ft on the DC side). Green power light to indicate it is on. Plug is a 5.5mm x 2.1mm So functioning for a week with no failure.
