So far so good with this combo. Today I took it out to some docks on the Ohio river to just get some content for my YouTube and it casts pretty nice with a 1/8 jig on it ! To be totally honest I was impressed with the durability and performance of this combo for the price I paid. Only $20. 6 foot & easy to get those baits and jigs where you want them. I got two nice bites and peeled some drag on one. But couldn’t get one on the bank. Didn’t break off or have anything to do with the performance of the rod & reel. I know I’ll slay some bluegill and trout with it soon!

The reel is a cheapest version of the abu Garcia Max spincast family. This version the trigger sticks cause the reel not to cast. I have the nicer version. The Max STX. It does not have this issue with sticking. The Max STX has an issue with the trigger breaking off. I’m curious how what the most expensive model of the Max family but I’m not willing to spend $100 on a spincast reel. If you want the rod it is an OK rod for $20 with a not so great reel attached to it.

La uso con baitcast, y en general es mejor que muchas de las cañas baratas, mil veces mejor que una china. Saca lobinas de 4/5 lb sin problemas. Por 500mxn lo mejor que puedes comprar.

At one time the Abumatic was a durable, smooth casting reel. This thing is a kids toy. It's plastic, doesn't cast half of the time. Does alright as long as you have a 1/2 ounce bait or heavier. Pole comes apart far too easy. Grinds when reeling. I can't state enough about how much I am annoyed by this purchase.

I wanted to like this reel Had a good feel to it when I bought itWasn’t able to use it but once when I bought it and had problems castingTrying to cast with any force locks the reel (usually causing a mess with the line)The button seems to lock back again with and force used to castLightly casting with no force works fine if you only want to cast 10 to 15 feetIf you manage to get it to cast correctly the retrieval is great and the feel is great
