Really wanted to love this for the price. Maybe I just got a bad one, but the Soldering iron glows red hot when set over 400C. My Hakko iron at 480C does not glow red. The hot air portion of this works just ok, typical for this style. The Hot air really struggles to get the part hot enough quickly. So you are baking the chip for too long before it loosens for removal.

This is a great little machine it has everything you need for working on circuit boards. Both heat up quick and works as they state. The length of the lead wire could be alittle bit longer and the amount of air volume that comes out of heat gun is rather on the light side but it does what it is Intended to do rather well it's simple to use plug an play. .

For the longest time, I've been looking at hot air guns. I discovered rework stations. Previously, I had tried desoldering chips with an iron--what a pain. When this became available on Vine, I jumped at the chance.I already had a decent soldering station. I struggled with the soldering side of this unit. It heated okay, but I struggled to get a good joint. I'm not sure if it was the tips or what. Still, it was bad.The hot air side, tho, was much better. I'm not experienced with rework stations, so take this for what it is worth. I was able to cleanly remove components without issue. It's good at shrinking tubing without burning the insulation. A good step up from a lighter.I'm giving it four stars only because of the price, and the hot air is decent for the price. The soldering side leaves a lot to be desired, and I'll be removing the iron and only using the air side. For the price and going in with this limitation in mind, I'd recommend it.

Heck yeah. for around 30 bucks, you can't go wrong. especially if it your first iron. the Iron heats up in like 30 seconds. so much faster than my 70W auyoe resolver station.

When I saw this and the price point it was offered, I just had to go for it. I’m happy to say that it’s actually not too bad of a tool. I have used both the hot air and the regular soldering iron and both function quite well. There is a small amount of assembly required, but I would think that anyone who can solder should have no problem assembling it.Included were extra tips, a solder sucker (not very good), lead free solder (also not very good), and the various parts to go along with the stand. To test this station out, I had a solder kit radio that included both surface mount and through hole soldering. I figured that would allow me to get a chance to use both sides. Once I traded out the lead free solder for some electronic solder that I already had, everything went as smooth as could be. Temperature control was fine. I didn’t burn anything up and I’m happy with the results. So all in all, I think it’s great value for the money. Is it perfect? probably not. Will you get a functioning soldering iron with hot air for a good price? I did.
