I bought this bag because the zipper on my Wen bag broke. The zipper in the photos of this item make it look like a large, strong zipper. It is actually a very small nylon zipper that doesn't look like it will hold up to much weight in the bag at all. It's actually smaller then the Wen original. Also, the fabric is very thin and flimsy. If I didn't have immediate need for the dust bag, I would have definitely returned it.

I have to admit this dust collector bag has more to offer than the name brand version. As you can see in the comparison photos (both filled with air) they are about the same size. The name brand is spec'd out at 13-1/2"x24" and the PureSturdy is 14”x 24”, in diameter and length. But here's where they differ. The PureSturdy bag has a see-through strip which gives you a view inside the bag to detect the level of debris. This is a real benefit with a minor risk associated. The clear strip is sewn into the bag so I am concerned that over time it will either crack and make the bag useless or it will develop leaks around the stitching. For now everything is good. The other enhancement is not visible but underneath, at the bottom of the bag, is a zipper. This conveniently allows unloading the bag into a different container without removing it from the wall-mount. One caveat, the wall mount must be installed high enough to allow for a bin or trash can to slip under the bag to catch the debris when unzipped. There was one shortcoming that is not readily noticed; as you can see on the name brand bag, it is attached to the exhaust port with a metal spring loaded clamp. No clamp, other than the string as seen in the photo, was included. Now, in all fairness, and obviously, one would use the name brand clamp in addition to the string. Or, any 4-6" band clamp for that matter. As for filtration, you need a particle counter to provide a fact based opinion...which I don't have. What I can offer is that when I vacuumed up a pile of sanding dust, I did not get a cloud of the same blowing through and out of the bag. Just for comparison, the name brand was rated at 30 micron, whereas the PureSturdy one has a 1 micron rating. That is significant; looking at the weave of the fabric, I can see a finer knit but is it 1 micron tight? I can't say; it just didn't make a cloud. As for the cost, well, at the same price point as the name brand, and given the added features and the superior filtration rating, this one is a winner.

It is very thin thus long-term life is not likely. It is a fraction of the weight of a nominal pillow case of similar size. Pathetic and a waste of time. It was returned., Unused and unopened. It might work as an add-on to a heavier bag filter, but this is not indicated in the description.

Great replacement bag. It works great with my pieced together vacuum/dust collector system. The bag seems to be a fairly standard size and will fit several collector brands. I'm happy with the way it's working so far, and I can breathe easy in the wood shop.
