The thing is junk, it stuck the very first time I energized it to run my hydraulic power unit. As soon as I let off the button my spool valve closed ss normal buty power unit keeps on running. Don't buy this crap.UPDATE: I graduated Summa Cum Laude, my GPA is 3.98. Majoring in mechanical electrical technology. Since the contacts were stuck in the closed position I started to tap the unit to see if i could break the cintacts free. It didn't take much force and they opened right up. But every time I would energize the coil the contacts would pull in and stick. I decided I need to get rid of this piece of junk, so I began removing it. I removed the battery cables from my battery. Then the hot cable and load from the solenoid. I removed the coil control wire and the coil ground wire. l unbolted the unit from the firewall, as I was removing it, I noticed a peculiar rattle. I didn't hear this before I installed it, and the unit did work during my preliminary test. I got a hunch and decided to reconnect the battery and and the hot and load cables. When i inverted the solenoid with no control nor a ground wire the my DC power unit's pump motor came on, when I returned the solenoid to the upright position it turned off. Anyways after removing it again, I opened it up and found that there was nothing to open the contacts inside except for gravity. There was no kind of return spring or anything to separates the contacts. I bought the unit for the bargain price. This is just another one of those, you get what you pay for deals, and not what was advertised. I did have a spring that fit in it. It's not stiff at all but the coil couldn't close the contacts. It's not worth the carbon footprint to return it. Spend a few extra bucks so you don't get throwbacks made from parts swept up off the floor at the end of shift.

I used it as a starter relay for a push button start on my classic car. Works as expected.

Buyer beware, the contacts will stick, and it will cause all sorts of issues. I installed this in my old truck in mid September as a battery cutoff and I put it on the negative lead of the battery. I would turn it on every time I got in, start the truck, drive usually 20-40 minutes, then turn it off every time I got out. However, sometimes the power would stay on even when I had turned the solenoid off. When this happened I would quickly switch it on and off a couple times, and that seemed to fully break the connection.Cut to now, mid December, and it sticks almost every time I turn it off. I tested the contacts with a multimeter and while the solenoid was energized I read 0 ohms, which makes sense because it’s on. However when the solenoid was off, I was reading anywhere from 0.5-3.4 Mohms, which was a problem. While not being fully on or off, this was causing all sorts of weird issues with relays clicking and lights on my dash flickering when the power should’ve been completely off. This leads me to believe that in the 3 ish months it spent under the hood, the contacts must’ve worn out as it was most likely not rated for the current needed for starting my truck. I believe this one is rated for 80a continuous and 500a only for short periods because that’s what similar looking ones are rated for.Needless to say I am replacing this with a higher quality relay that is rated for more current. It’s a shame that it’s failing now, well past the return window, or I would’ve returned it and just bought a better one in the first place.
