Not tacky enough. I was looking for a strong tape. Unbreakable and strong enough to hold.Wonder any expiry date to the tape, that over time loses its tackiness.

Sure beats electrical tape. Excellent adhesion, high heat tolerance, and I do believe it will work better for purpose of insulating wires from heat. One drawback is it's prone to fraying while unrolling. I always wound up with the edge of the underlying tape (from one side) sticking to what I had already unrolled. Still a five star product in my book and I'll continue to use it. I don't anticipate the slimy results from electrical tape. Once I overlapped this stuff it was actually very tough to get apart to fix a mistake. Often I had to delicately use a fresh razor blade. My use has been specifically for automotive wiring residing in the engine bay. Cover it up with some loom and the black marks it gets covered in don't matter. Oh, and if aesthetics don't matter, its quite resistant to abrasion and protects wires from sharp edges.

We recently discovered a crack on our glass-top stove. It's a GE Profile, and we were told a new top would be $300-$500. The crack is about 6" long, forming a diagonal close to the front right corner. Before purchasing a new top, I decided to give this a try. It's worked really well keeping the crack sealed, and since it's heat-resistant it stands up to pans and the general heat of the stove top. (Note that the crack is not on or adjacent to any of the burners!). Good product, good price.
